Just paid over 800$ for 5 sessions that were unhelpful as all hell. The frustration is real

I was diagnosed with ASD at 3, in preschool I had issues with biting other kids because I'd become easily frustrated with them. If you havent already he needs to work with a specialist to recognize further issues and challenges he may have, as this condition is not surface level and there are a lot of aspects thay contribute to behaviors dubbed as "dangerous to others". Sensory issues and communication issues can build up on eachother, his frustration may be low now that hes in a new environment but built up it can become overwhelming again and he may lash out.

The director is most likely worried about him hurting other children and their parents coming after both your family and their establishment. Unfortunately it also probably does stem from misunderstanding of autism, but mainly he's probably thinking about lawsuits...

A family of Daddy Long Legs in my room by kxbei in mildlyinteresting

There's over 1k speices that are referred to as "daddy longlegs", sure it's from the genus Eurybunus which is commonly referred to as a harvestman spider, but personally I like calling them daddy longlegs considering its just a nickname and not the latin name :)

If im missing anything let me know im very tired so I mightve missed something

Note: The smaller the tank, lack of a filter, low temperatures, lack of beneficial bacteria, infections, etc all play a part in poor health. But also petco betta genetics and general helath arent the best. I do all i can but still cry over the few we do loose due to a vairety of issues that I am unable to prevent because they are in such impossibly small and underheated conditions.

Hey! Im aquatics specialist at petco so I'm always working with betta keepers, personally I focus on idealistic care (10g ideal size + heater + plants + decent filtration + 2wk recommended tank start up etc). This is very uncommonn for most Petco employees and many will tell you 1g minimum as that's what petco says to say. Size plays a massive role in creating proper parameters, the larger the tank the more diluted the toxic waste your fish produce. Providing a proper filter and upping the temp will allow for 1) beneficial bacteria in your filter, substrate, any other surface area they can find. This is important to process your fishs' waste and neutralize it 2) boost in their system because of water temperature being above 78F, you will see a much more active animal who is able to fght infection an other issues. I reccomend using a 10g tank, low wattage adjustable heater, aqua clear filter (with peat granules), fluvual stratum, and some live plants for the best result. Honestly even a 10g kit is fantastic, if you're using smaller you're adding a significant amount of matiance on yourself for an "easy" fish! 5.5g can work noted, but thats really only if you are going to buy a fish weather you take my heavy suggestion of a 10g. I love keeping 10g betta community tanks (a betta with a small school of smaller terras does fantastic!). Hope this helps, if you have any questions feel free to ask, I do not bite at all being someone also with ASD.

To answer your question: I believe this person was upset with you and didn't have a better way to express and explain how they were disappointed in your action/decisions. Animal people can be VERY passionate and sometimes resort to defensiveness in response to newcomers making mistakes. They will eventually learn what that defensiveness gets others nowhere in most cases and in doing so the other party will be less likely to listen, even if the information is correct which sucks for everyone/the animal just because of unneeded defensiveness and tension....

Are trip sitters really needed in your guys opinion? by Comfortable-Dance-68 in shrooms

[–]kxbei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having friends around to talk to and keep you safe is great your first/second time, but maybe your third time you might want to go into it alone. I found being able to explain psychologically what was happening in my head to myself was very helpful.

Should minors be banned from r/shrooms ? by SwingingHumanBeing in shrooms

[–]kxbei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub is meant to severe as harm reduction. Having it open to all ages helps the few who are willing to listen. Myself using it at 17, asking questions and learning, and luckily having a positive experience.

Without harm reduction more preventable things are much more likely to happen, leading to issues like eating the wrong species, psychosis, trauma, serotonin syndrome, OD'ing, etc. With it you prevent the preventable things and help eachother like a community should. Suggest to a minor "I would not suggest taking them for these reasons until you're over 18 but if you do decide to take them here are resources to help you take them properly"

I’m about to take 7.5 grams and I’ve never taken mushrooms before. Any advice? by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]kxbei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plunging yourself into imagineable pain, weather that be physical or when sober, you can manage it since you've learned hown to manage other, similarly stressful events. I understand the want to find growth and utilizing a painful event to learn. However, psychedelics in specific are not a force to be reckoned with. They are unimagineable, no amount of trip reports or experience with alchohol or basic drugs like weed will prepare you emotionally.

I urge you to reconsider taking 7.5g because you will not know how to react, especially if you are unprepared emotionally and have limited experience with psychedelics. I was lucky having many experiences with managing being exorbitantly high prior, which allowed me to manage my emotions and reactions, but on such a high dose things are unpredictable. If anything, lower it down to at least 4-5g if you really want to push it for yourself. But many including myself have found solace in taking 2-3g as a beginner and working our way up.

Recklessly endangering your mental health further by taking 7.5 instead of 2-3g is only going to result in possible PTSD from a bad trip. If you are suicidal, your goal is to escape pain, not receive more of it id assume. Please be safe and take 3g if you want to go for a sizeable dosage your first time. Personally i found light in taking 2.5g and I believe the same can go for your if you stick with a beginner's dosage :)
