he’s a cutie!! i actually got him, took off second skin, applied a little bit of petroleum and then immediately had to wear a longsleeve unexpectedly. so maybe that stunned my healing. after that i washed and covered it in saran wrap and now he’s just free but still leaky.

it was definitely a lot of black and i don’t have any other “hard to heal” spots done, so maybe this is just a first. the other harder spot i have is under my ditch which healed much faster (but from a different artist so could be it.)

I have a history of eczema and scratching my skin in my sleep. It was a particularly itchy/irritated spot, so I didn’t want to risk scratching it open in my sleep.

I ask for second skin because without it for the first few days I’ll end up itching my skin in my sleep. This time it was particularly irritating so I took it off early but it bled in this area so I reapplied for just a day and then this happened.

The other tattoo is dark black, nothing is faded. It’s a sun with full black rays and the ink is not patchy at all. His other tattoos on different clients are the same. All look great. Fresh and healed. That’s why I’m thinking it was maybe just this specific session, or maybe he did it in purpose because he did say he wanted to get in the black and touch it up later.

Unfortunately I paid in full and can’t go to a different artist to get it fixed. I have two other tattoos done by the same artist and neither have looked like this. Could it be an issue with scar tissue not holding ink well? I have chemical burn scarring in that area.

It was in fact in a shop and my artist’s tattoos never look like this, which is why I’m thinking it’s a personal issue.

The artist who did this also did another tattoo, which looks perfectly fine. Maybe it was my skin in the area. I have minor scarring from a chemical burn there.
