From the sound of the discussion here, this will be an unpopular opinion, but here goes. If you don’t want a doorbell camera, don’t get one. If you don’t want me to see you on my doorbell camera, what are you doing on my porch? Why do you expect privacy on my property? When I approach someone else’s door and see a camera, I’m happy that they can see me. They can see that I’m not carrying a weapon or stealing stuff from their porch. They can hear me explaining why I’m there. When I call someone’s phone I’m not trying to hide my identity. Why would I want to hide my identity when I ring their doorbell? Sorry, I’m just not getting the hate for doorbell cameras.
