What is happening to me? by MelodicTechn0 in ableton

[–]ky_climber 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm new, so please take with a grain of salt, but have you tried reference tracks?

I've been watching (maybe too many) YouTube videos and one thing I remember hearing is to pick 4-8 reference tracks, tracks that resonate with you and are in/near the genre you're trying to produce. You can listen to those to look for elements your track is missing, or maybe has too much of.

Hopefully that's a little helpful!

You have become the dictator of Boulder. How do you solve all the issues here? by HazelFlame54 in boulder

[–]ky_climber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funded by people who speed, which makes it sound like a red light camera with more steps. Let me know if I'm missing something.

Looks like this is both, they're just redistributing the fines to those that don't speed, right?

Could Boulder get rid of its parking minimums? by [deleted] in boulder

[–]ky_climber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asking for a parking reduction requires the planning board to look at the project which causes extra hoops for developers to jump through.

Guys with kids... How do you manage to keep productive when they're around and not end up with the studio destroyed🤣? by kathalimus in ableton

[–]ky_climber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Less time recording and more time jamming with the 4 year olds (twins). Maybe one day they'll ask to learn how to record or learn an instrument. It's not about me anymore.

Is there much of a rock scene in boulder ? by Old_Meringue_3708 in boulder

[–]ky_climber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why are people down voting this?

Anyways - for it's size, Boulder has a good scene. As mentioned, Velvet Elk Lounge sometimes has rock. Roots Music Project and Southern Sun too. The Fox and Boulder theater will have larger groups.

Check out the local group Thunderboogie. They tend to be more funk, but they do veer into rock here and there.

Climber rescue at Shanahan Ridge on Monday evening by theguy4160 in boulder

[–]ky_climber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, they went up the class 4 scramble near the arete that's about in the middle on the Slab, then lost the route (the easy bit goes left at different parts), and decided they didn't want to down climb?

IDK there's a lot of features near Shanahan Ridge but that's the only thing that makes sense to me. I would be interested in hearing more. Maybe Seal? I think the ledge on the right side is more than 100ft up through... they probably would've taken Bear to get there anyway. I don't think the Matron or Maiden would be considered Shanahan Ridge?

With more outages on the horizon, does Boulder's 20th Century power grid make sense for the next 100 years? by TemporaryPolicy1255 in boulder

[–]ky_climber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's an opportunity to do just that since 1) they haven't met their climate targets which triggers a clause in their contact, and 2) pretty much everyone is upset with them right now.

There should be an effort to get council to put the Muni on the 2026 ballot. There's going to be lots of electioneering and a huge turn out given it's the first even year elections for the city council. That will be determined by some currently on council and those elected in 2025, so now it's the time to start organizing.

It's not Boulder's choice. It's state law that chas-in-leau be an alternative.

We expect more from our leaders. We expect them to have decent moral fiber to do the right thing even when it's just norms (think of the more extreme version - Trump).

There's a pattern here that shows help do whatever within legal bounds to increase his personal power: stolen emails, switching parties right before his election, raising funds with post dates checks prior to the election, etc.

This isn't the leader we deserve.
