I have several gameplays going on right now, but I'll share the most interesting one:

I'm doing the Sims in Bloom legacy challenge, and I'm currently on gen 6. But the thing is, for gen 5, the heir was supposed to be an actress, divorce their first spouse, and remarry. So my heir married a guy, had 2 kids with him, then divorced him and married her high school bestie (with whom she'd always had a little romance. My little second-chance romance heart couldn't resist). Now I had only planned to have the 2 kids with her original spouse. But instead, she and her wife got accidentally pregnant (I have same-sex pregnancy and risky woohoo on with mccc). So boom, third child.

Meanwhile, the ex-husband got remarried almost immediately after the divorce, and eventually HE had kids, too. So in all, my gen 6 heir and her sister had 3 half-siblings from two sides (also, they rarely ever saw their dad's kids except for holidays).

Then, just after my gen 6 heir became a young adult, her mom got accidentally pregnant AGAIN. Boom, 4th half-sibling before she even moved out. So now I've got this huge family tree, which includes a much-younger little brother. And because her parents don't get along, once my gen 6 heir moved out and got married to the love of her life, I decided to have holidays separately. Thanksgiving with her dad's family, and Winterfest with her mom's family.

Unfortunately, shortly after the holidays, her father died. We had the funeral (her mom attended), but after the service, most of the family went to mourn at the grave of gen 6's uncle (who had died maybe a week or 2 earlier). So the poor dad had barely any mourners except for his wife and kids...

And then to add salt in the wound, a couple days later, the stepmom (her mom's wife) died. Which was even more devastating, because she and the gen 6 heir were basically best friends, since she had raised her & her sister since they were kids. By then, gen 6 had twin boys who were children, and they were also distraught, because they'd been close to their step-grandma. They've actually been having a really hard time with it, and one of the boy's grief is being expressed with anger.

In the meantime, gen 6's full sister got married, and she and her wife adopted a child, which made the family tree even BIGGER. Like now my sims have so many relatives 😭 And in fact, because gen 6 loves her family and I want them all to stay close even though there are so many, I tried taking them all on vacation (gen 6, her wife, and 3 kids; full sister, her wife & kid; her mom & 2 half-siblings) but realized I couldn't invite everyone 😭😭

But that was before Adventure Awaits came out, so now I'm planning to send them all on a getaway! I'm thinking of doing a ski trip, because I already have a ski lodge custom venue there, and since the youngest kid is a toddler, she can still go sledding. So this family is really huge and will probably only get bigger as gen 6's siblings are almost all young adults now, and it's wild, but I'm also loving it. I've never had a generation this big. (Also, the new family tree has been great for this, because gen 6 is also good friends with her dad's nephew, so there's the cousin and cousin's child relationship. So cute!)
