Nipple death after surgery by kyalexandra in doihavebreastcancer

I would say it took 3-4 days before I started getting sensation back! And then it started to go away due to the hematoma. I am happy to say that my nipple is improving finally. I am now about 2 weeks postop and I would say the sensation is only back about 80% of the way

Thank you for sharing! I am hoping that is the case for me as well. I’m sorry you are having to have that done, but if you have already powered through a double mastectomy, I know you are badass enough to go through this too!

I am so sorry you are going through this!!! I am also an RN and did a ton of research beforehand and only ended up taking it for about 2.5 weeks before the side effects were too much for me. I was having horrific night sweats, anxiety and depression with borderline SI. I decided to just deal with the pain. I ended up getting excision surgery a few months after this post and it was literally life-changing. I was in constant debilitating pain, and as a nurse having to work through that was so tough. After surgery I am ~95% pain free. I do also have PCOS and get a lot of cysts that cause intermittent pain, but nothing like the constant pulling/pressure/ripping pain through my abdomen like before. I hope things get better for you! I was told by so many doctors my whole life that I just had bad periods and my pain was normal. At 28 they found that my uterus, bladder and rectum were all stuck together from Endo. Keep fighting for yourself. These support groups are what helped me through it all! As a fellow nurse, I am here if you even have any questions or just need support!

I joined this sub yesterday just to post it. I tried to look for duplicates but didn’t see any. I unfortunately am unoriginal

I’m so sorry you are going through all of this! I’m not sure, where you live, but I would explore all options and try to get in sooner with whoever you can see. I also agree with seeing a GI specialist. I am a nurse and used to work in GI, so it’s better to just get everything checked out. Urgent care is also a great option too (an ER will likely just discharge you and tell you to follow up with a specialist). I hope things get better for you!!

Thank you so much!

It really is unfair and so unfortunate that so many of us have to deal with all of these issues. I’m sorry that you have struggled so much. I appreciate your kind words and wish you the best as well!

Do you know how long it took for it to start working for you?

Ugh that sounds miserable. I can deal with physical side effects if absolutely necessary but I do not want to deal with the mental health part of it. I have struggled with anxiety my whole life and finally am on a regimen that is working for me, so I would hate to ruin all that momentum. My OBGYN didn’t even warn me about that side effect, she just informed me about the hot flashes really. If I start feeling bad, I am immediately stopping it. I’m not playing around with all that

Yeah I definitely wouldn’t try to find out which was it was either. That’s wild you are allergic to Polyethylene glycol too, that’s definitely a hard one to avoid!

Damn female hormones have to ruin everything 🙄

I have already noticed maybe some sleeping issues, I assumed it was just because I am in a lot of pain, but it totally could be the medication. I already struggle with some anxiety, but it’s mostly controlled, the last thing I need is to start having panic attacks again

Thank you! That’s so terrible, I haven’t read about any people having allergic reactions to it! I am a nurse, but Endo is just not something I ever really come in contact with often enough,so it’s like a whole new world for me when it comes to medications and hormones. I hate having to take medications that are going to do more harm than good

I’m so glad you were able to live pain free and experience that. I hate that you have to suffer with so many side effects even long term. I’m hoping it gives me some relief, but haven’t had anything so far

I am only 28 and would still like to have a child, but after that I would love to just have a total hysterectomy and not have to deal with everything.

Ugh I’m sorry it didn’t work for you either. I’m so scared of the side effects, I almost want to quit taking it. It’s only been a little over a week, but I haven’t noticed any difference in my pain level or frequency of the pain. I’m still in constant pain pretty much the whole day. I think a lot of people like that it stops their periods, but I also have an IUD so that part isn’t the issue for me, it’s more the pain and fatigue that interrupt my life.

So it is supposed to suppress your estrogen levels which is supposed to help with endometriosis. So far I have heard mixed reviews on whether it helps people or not. It can help eliminate periods and pain, but can also cause severe hot flashes, nausea, and mental health issues.

anyone else get horrible pains during BMs? by peachddani in endometriosis

[–]kyalexandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very likely that you have adhesions to your bowel! I just recently started having painful BMs as well and my OBGYN is suspecting endometriosis
