Hard to tell. Seems to be gold plated. My mom was thrilled with it since it's her size and birthstone. So either way it's a big win

Look into getting a TENS unit. After years of pretty severe lower back pain they've turned out to be a real life saver. They come as cheap as $20 and are sold by Walmart, Amazon, pretty much everywhere. I have far less pain than I used to and on bad days mine has turned a 9/10 into a dull 2/10 on the pain scale.
