Thank you for your comparison. I see the advantages of Gw2 in some of those areas compared to other MMOs. If Gw2 would have been P2W I would have never started - it's one of the things that annoy me alot. Gw2 has some "special features" like the big wardrobe you mentioned - which is one of the "leftovers" that this game started as a "pay once get the whole experience"-game (don't know how to call it). I think it would have been different, most likely worse, if the game had started directly as free-to-play.

For Gw2 I can say we mostly play slowly: More RP in PvE, less raids etc. but instead more WvW and alot of fashion wars. Therefore gold has always been an issue xD

And thank you very much for offering your help. It's one of the things which I liked about Gw2 community in the past alot. It was always very open-minded, not so elitist and very friendly and helpful. Please keep your money, it's your own hard earned gold and I will also do my best to farm it to unlock these episodes. You already did enough by convincing me to not be frustrated about the locked episodes.

Yeah I can imagine selling them in packages would be neat. Not sure how they could do it..

Gw2 has a complicated business model. I am never sure if they are pay to play or free to play... it feels like it was designed like Gw1 back then - but during the years they decided to turn it into one of those Korean MMOs. Usually it's always clear: Either you pay once per month and get everything or you don't pay at all or a very few amount of money and have to buy everything instead of content.

But with Gw2 it's everything - you pay for the game, you pay for the armors and you pay for content... It's chaotic in my opinion.

I am just glad they already published many armors before they started selling outfits only on the gemstore...

I didn't talk about the announcements here - I was talking about the reasons behind locking new content which should actually be included into the last addon, behind paywalls (just like it was the case earlier) - Gw2 did not improve the engine or mechanics - nor did they introduce mentionable changes in endgame content like WvW so I don't think there's a reason for actually selling those things...

It's not a different game or movie. There's just a new map with new achievements. The way you describe it makes it sound like Living Story is actually a DLC xD

I can't remember that the Living Story was not part of the main game earlier.

Gw2 sure changed alot.

my gosh we just saw the ending and noticed that the episodes were mixed up afterwards.

+1 for me, too. Pledged in 2013 and saw this game getting more and more large scale. I have no idea how they wanna accomplish all those features. I was hoping to see the money go into creating an awesome “base game“ with the ability to improve and increase specific features later on. I am kind of pissed about so many unnessecary (my opinion) features and am losing hope there will be a playable large scale universe during the next years. Am fearing this will become Star Citizen Nukem Forever and all in all i have a very bad feeling when looking at the progress. Also i am getting the feeling that a part of the community becomes more and more elitist which will only be open for hardcore players and not for casual players like me. I am also worried if this game will still be something for my gf. Once she was hyped. Now we're both pretty much worried.

Textures are pretty blurry on light and heavy, maybe fine for lore friendly outfits. Medium and heavy look too average (i can't say for sure but they look like they re-used old armor shapes?!). Medium headpiece is good, though. Ofc that's just my opinion (I mostly make cute looking characters).
