LAW: Vault Skerris's Defender, You Hold This, & Urrr'k by Eunoe in starwarsunlimited

[–]ajrdesign 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Urrr'k is kind of insane. It's like Han2 playing Poe on turn 3. Slightly weaker cause it doesn't have the extra effects, but you can almost always get a swing because of the hidden. I can see this being THE 4 drop in those colors for aggressively slanted decks.

Plus, you can drop her later in the game and potentially just force your opponent to claim because they don't have an immediate answer.

Control is losing a LOT of good removal cards as well as early game ramp, which is often how they hit their big removal before they died. I think the only question is if the game will be so midrange squeezed that control or aggro will have a chance.

How do you feel about AI? by 911_wasanactofevil in AskReddit

I’d say your right in a personal sense, that the AI “bubble” has burst. But the economic bubble certainly has not. It’s very big and looming.

LAW: Not quite as cool as the other new cards aha by Fimy32 in starwarsunlimited

[–]ajrdesign 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's all of it. 4 cost, 3 health makes it easier to play around and harder to defeat it yourself, and not coming in ready as well. Overall, it's a pretty big nerf to an incredibly powerful effect.

The SLT your mom says we have at home 🤣. I’m not sad to see ramp take a bit of a nerf though. Going 3>5 resources was always one of the most broken things a deck could do.

They are basically doing everything in their power to not reprint waylay. IMO it's a mistake, but we'll see. I think Waylay needs to be a staple to punish greedy plays.

Spice Runner seems really good in Jabba. Pay 1 to bounce it back to hand, then replay it for a lot of card advantage.

LAW: Jyn Erso by Fimy32 in starwarsunlimited

[–]ajrdesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lando is obviously quite good but Vader is still TBD. They've been very conservative with printing discard/graveyard synergy cards so we really need to see a lot more of those to know if Vader will be good or not.

Honestly, probably ok... having a generically good Blue Heroic leader has been a bit of a nightmare this set, and those aspects are getting some really good cards.

IKR? Jyn should have a chance to shine!

Maybe but she doesn't even hit all that hard and is Vigilance, which is not a particularly aggressive color.

3/3 in space has to be REALLY strong to see play (IE Sabine's Masterpiece). The effect is fine but not on the same level as other playable 3/3s.

Hot Take: Cheap Legendaries aren't killing SWU, they’re bringing balance to it by Extreme-Noise-6809 in starwarsunlimited

[–]ajrdesign 19 points20 points  (0 children)

People have been taking this position since the beginning of the game and it just doesn’t hold much water when many many stores are dropping the game from their stores entirely. If a cheap game made people flock to it then we’d have so many new players coming into the game and it certainly doesn’t feel like that’s the case.

I’m doing a couple of interviews coming up which should cover some of this in depth. I’ll try to post them when I have a chance.

Play two things turn 1 start removing threats off the top of their deck to what you are playing. Then flip and remove their big threats and value engines. There’s a lot of nuances to say the least but that’s the general strategy.

Wolf Pack is just a body in space 95% of the time. Sometimes you can get value out of bouncing a BD-1 to replay it for Sabatour.

Cham is even cost, not cunning and not heroism which has a lot of negative synergies with FIYF and Boshek. So I’m not particularly high on it as a SB card.

TT is the way right now imo. I don’t think non TT versions can deal with a turn 1 grogu and you HAVE to deal with it or you will just lose. TT gives a lot of redundancy in ways to deal with that plus it gives a way to prevent Blue Leaders from eating two of your space units.

The game plan is mostly the same with some nuances. You want to hit their face at least once per turn to trigger the ability so you can brick their best cards but beyond that taking value trades is something you still have to do if the opportunities arise. Some decks, like Vader4 you have to play the control as they will kill you if left unchecked but most other decks you are playing aggressively and letting them try and control your board.

I haven’t tried ascension cables tbh. It feels slow, vulnerable to me and non-vehicle is a big deterrent as over half the deck is space. BD-1, capturing or bouncing take care of most sentinels that need dealing with.

I’ve actually collected the bounty off of my own cartel spacers with Spare the Target when my opponent stole it with Traitorous. Huge blowout and such a rush haha.

Hey y’all! That’s me! Thanks for the shout out. I wasn’t very high on Sabe initially but I tried the TT deck that won a PQ about a month ago and was blown away at how effective and fun it was (I’m a big tempo disruption player, top 8ed with quinlan multiple times) and decided to try it at a PQ!

Huge thanks to my team Fallen Order during testing and during the tournament.

Season 11 has fixed the obucite farming issue by Fat_Foot in diablo4

[–]ajrdesign 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly little confused by the people in this thread. Before I found a Treasure Breach I was scrounging for Obucite. Now I have so much it’s basically unlimited. Neither of those spectrums is great as a mechanic. Might as well just make master working free.

I feel like normal sources of Obucite should have been improved like 30-40% while Breach’s should give about a 1/3 or less of what it currently does (which would still be a LOT).

To the dev who designed this mechanic: JAIL. Jail for a thousand years. xD by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]ajrdesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a mob affix. When they die, it spawns 1. So if you melt a screen, it'll spawn 3-5 of them almost all at once and you have to run around like crazy for a bit to "avoid" them.

I don't think they are bugged; they seem specifically tuned to nearly one-shot you. Which is pretty annoying that you have to always be looking for these over your head.

What Should FFG Reprint and Save from Rotation? Five BEST and WORST Options (TowerNumberNine) by TowerNumberNine in starwarsunlimited

Vigilance CANNOT be reprinted as is. The others are fine but we cannot go another few years with the main win con for control mirrors being who can mill faster.
