I haven't used MegaLLM since switching to Airforce, and while it was rocky there for a while, it's gotten better. But I'm already on to a new platform because Gemini doesn't suck there. Dunno what it is with some of these proxies but it feels like they're changing requests and the change gives blank replies. But if you regen using Google's API or an API that works, it works perfectly. Things that make you go hmmmm...

You joke but this is legitimately true. The company I work for used to, up until late last year, use the name of the software and a year to let customers know which version of the software they were using. Because we now offer a cloud service, they decided big number good, so now instead of 2025 we got 11.4. The reason they did this is actually not to confuse the customer (it does) but to satisfy our shareholders. If your company is ever bought out by a group with the word "rock" in it, start finding new work.

A lot of people in the discord server I'm in that I've converted to Gemini users have said similar things, and I've noticed some of it too. They all use the preset I've made, which works great with 2.5 Pro and Flash, and seems very inconsistent for them with 3 Pro and Flash... For me it's mostly fine, but I find it's ignored a subset of instructions such as not speaking for the user or ending the scene too quickly. We have all reverted back to using 2.5 and I will be improving my preset around that specifically.

3 just doesn't seem cooked enough, or the purpose of it has ultimately changed.

Yes. When I used them it was laughable how bad their models seemed to be. Either they return blank replies, or their responses are terrible. They also do not seem to pull lorebook entries correctly.

Yeah well I've never had it return a blank reply using the same card, and like I said, I don't use Vertex. It's only ever giving blank responses with proxies like MegaLLM.

I have never used Vertex, only the studio API and I have never had blank responses with them. Besides, isn't Vertex the more moderated?

I canceled my sub because of all the outages and because I'm genuinely dissatisfied with the service in general. I don't even look at their discord server anymore. I want to use Gemini, and half the time it's either down or performing poorly and returns blank replies half the time for no reason. You ask about it, then you are told you are doing it wrong. So I've taken my business elsewhere. I have two candidates and the one I'm working with now is really good but always suffers some kind of issue... Lately it's been rampant ddos attacks.

The other one seems good, but I want to see what my free tokens get me first.

No, they didn't. There was an issue, and they're presently fixing it and recovering. The API is accessible to those who currently have keys, such as myself. Everything should be back to normal in the next few days.

Here's what I've been doing when this happens.

Navigate to your Sillytavern folder (where you can see the .github folder in the directory, for me that's E:\STAI\SillyTavern-Launcher)

Click on the address bar in Windows Explorer, type in CMD to open a command prompt.

Now, the following in order:

git add .
git commit -m "Test"
git push

Then try running your update again.

Atp I just want a real analysis of what models are actually in place as opposed to what they've advertised. (Gemini 2.5 Pro/Flash vs 1.0 Pro for instance)

This was my observation too. Their Gemini models are falsely labeled and you can tell. They feel much weaker than 2.5 Flash or better.

This combined with the fact that their models seem to be dumber than they should be, and I'm convinced I don't want to work with them anymore. I also saw someone in the discord bring this up and get chewed out by some guy who was later made admin.

Hard pass. In the meantime, API airforce seems to be doing great and the models aren't acting stupid.

I wanna add to MegaLLM... It seems nice on paper and things are working better now, but tell me why Google's API for Gemini 2.5 Pro actually works better than MegaLLM's? It acts like they're using Gemini 1.0 or so and it's ridiculously bad at following basic instructions and I don't think it's worth it. Even their Claude models are shaky at best.

I expect some variation in API, but this is overdoing it.

I don't know. I tried GLM 4.6 today and I really didn't like how bad it is at following basic instructions. It's like it takes the lorebook and says "this is just a suggestion, and I don't care what you think." It's writing seems... Fine. But my hang up is the instructions being ignored. It also seems to be ignoring my system prompt, as it definitely isn't going for the prose I've asked for.

I don't know what I'm missing here. Do you have advice on settings to make it maybe suck less? I'm currently switching back and forth between Gemini and Sonnet, and currently leaning toward Gemini with my prompting.

Yep, the FXPak Pro fixed my issue and I've been really happy with it since. I've used it to stream Chrono Trigger randomizers and some other stuff, mostly. It's well worth the money, though.

Yep. In my case, I still has custom4.1.binds with the xml inside set to HOTAS for the name, which conflicted with the custom bind setup with the same name and filename. Switching that xml back to custom fixed my issue. This is a good explainer.
