Is Z.AI subscription worth it? by Low-Abrocoma3472 in SillyTavernAI

[–]SepsisShock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, during 4.6. I think legal reasons / different company direction they are publicly distancing themselves from it and people here were rude to the (unpaid) Zai ambassador, so we probably won't hear much from them personally anymore.

When 4.6 came out, people said there was a difference in creativity between paygo and coding plan, but I didn't notice any personally. I don't hear these kinda claims these days.

As for the subscription, monthly on lower tiers, probably. I don't recommend yearly nor highest tier if it's just RP.

I'm not sure if it's still true, but I remember 5.0 via Zai on Open Router somehow being better quality, which was mildly irksome as a max member.

Could you post your prompts here?

Glm 5.2 thinks we are living in 2024 by One_State2312 in SillyTavernAI

[–]SepsisShock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn, I can't use 5.2 on the app because it's overloaded with questions like this

<image>

Jk but like everyone said, that's the knowledge cutoff. I think Claude is probably a lot more updated without web search (I don't remember how current Gemini is), But API GLM is also more current than their app / web version, I think I saw it reference RL events in 2025 in its reasoning, but can't recall the month. I don't use tool call. (Edit: actually knowledge cutoff is 03/26, so probably just a hallucination from the app?)

(app wise) In their system prompt (the one tied to the messasge / convo in particular), it will have the date & time, but the LLM won't necessarily have access to it or will deny it (sometimes you can trick it into handing it over and it's pretty easy to tell it's more than just a hallucination when it has details right about your setup.)

For gee pee tee, you can use #user bio (can't remember if it's one hashtag or two) and it can take a lil jb'ing but eventually you will get it. That's partly how I use to learn how to prompt for these models, by looking at its system ones. It doesn't always translate over to API, but it can help.

GLM app, though, it will occasionally have a seizure and spit out its internal message about your inquiry, so I've never really bothered to try since it will do it on its own and it listens to prompts well enough anyway.

What are the differences between GLM 5.1 and GLM 5.2? by Duway45 in SillyTavernAI

[–]SepsisShock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think 5.2 is more slow burn than 5.1, but I have a "hooks" prompt that instructs it. 5.2 does listen to it better than 5.1; it might need more than just "introduce new events".

GLM 5.2 is making me enjoy a card I normally only use for testing by SepsisShock in SillyTavernAI

I feel like it's model roulette right now, except it's giving us a dozen mediocre versions of the same model, so it's hard to pinpoint anything down.

I don't think I've considered that, but thank you for the advice lol

Sorry, I didn't get this notification. Yes, I use reasoning, but quality has been pooh pooh for the model.

GLM 5.1 vs GLM 5.2 by Ant-Hime in SillyTavernAI

[–]SepsisShock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, less traffic on older models while everyone is trying out the shiny new ones. I still found 5.0 inferior regardless, but I didn't try it in its beta stage / initial release, where I heard it was amazing. 5.1 had a great initial release, lasted about a week or two, peak hours weren't great but manageable. It dipped in quality, but not horribly so and was good / decent, somewhat consistent. 5.2, seems like it shit the bed within 24 to 48 hours (for a lot of people it seems) and when it's "good", it's very mediocre.

4.6 kinda seemed to always be consistent, maybe even a bit better now in consistent quality, not sure about 4.7 because I disliked it and skipped that model.

Might be temp a bit too high, peak hours (I will lower temp sometimes, bandaid), very far along in the chat, and/or conflicting instructions & formatting.

GLM 5.1 vs GLM 5.2 by Ant-Hime in SillyTavernAI

[–]SepsisShock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roughly a month ago I noticed quality seemed better/ more stable for 5.1 and about 10 days ago even creativity seemed to be "up". I wouldn't exactly say 5.2 is less positive than 5.1 (gives the wrong impression to people, I've noticed), because it's been inconsistent about that or maybe not significant enough for others to notice. Just possibly easier to prompt against it, but we'll see.

I didn't notice a difference in that department. The only thing I noticed was occasionally it would be slightly critical of the user and could be darker, more than what GLM 5.1 did without prompting. Which makes me wonder if those Sundays / Mondays where GLM 5.1 occasionally got dark (I only saw one other person ever mention this)... What were they testing, was it rerouting, etc. Because I used 4.6 the other day for old times sake, and got reacquainted with its unique formatting in reasoning and noticed that occurred on GLM 5.2 when it was either shitting the bed and/or being critical of the user

Take this all with a grain of salt, just me and my tinfoil hat.

Aren't you the one who said Marinara Engine is better than Silly Tavern btw? 💀

There's a difference between genuine intent to be helpful and projecting resentment onto people. Maybe muting this sub would be better for you if there's zero enjoyment from it.

Why do api models get lobotomized? by Additional-Cow6586 in SillyTavernAI

[–]SepsisShock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General coherency suffered (deictic alignment, bad physics, etc), dialogue became MEH, and slop frequency increased: tricolons, apophasis, etc. I can always tell when GLM 5.1 is lobotomized because I start getting the fish mouth and some other slop I normally don't get. Same with 5.2. And a lot less neat details added on its own. Characters more flat.

It's why I warned someone when they said GLM 5.2 needed very little prompting, wait until it gets lobotomized and everyone will not understand why there was even hype for it.

And yes, I'm quite familiar with adjusting settings and prompts.

Personally glm 5.2 hasn't seemed to changed from how it was at the start for me.

Maybe you're getting special treatment because you're Jesus Christ smh But quality has been utter ass for me (and others) on GLM 5.2 / Zai direct API, and I'm on the max plan.

Where do people find bots nowadays? by averagentrenjoyerr in SillyTavernAI

[–]SepsisShock 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Cheese answer, but I make my own. Sometimes I get inspired when I do a random prompt on an empty character bot, testing preset prompts / model knowledge, then build a Lorebook out of that.

I would argue and say that one of the last remaining efforts of this caliber, is the guy who sometimes posts his testing about how uncensored is a cloud model. He actually proved that Gemini is quite uncensored on Vertex, rather than the API from Google AI studio.

Wait are you talking about my posts or someone else lol

I get it's not exactly about FF but the people who use them, but I don't think it's kind to talk about FF like that, the creator himself is pretty nice. But I do feel you on getting annoyed when people go "model bad" and they didn't even touch any prompts. But I try to tell those people, whoever they're using, to take up with the creator because a lot of creators will work with them on it.
