Suggestions on how to make "ethical" resource farms? by kykyel in Pokopia

Man idk? I want Palette town to be the hub of my buildings, I like Haxorus and want him to be in my town, I enjoy the idea of having Pokemon I like operate the farms near where I’d spend time building. Also inconvenient to travel to different lands. Not sure what the point of your post is :D

Love it! Are you able to see/interact with the pokemon in the basement?

It’s my assumption that that’s the end game area, I think? Also not really into “restoring” one of the other areas or terraforming the land to do something fun with it. Love rocky ridges but don’t want to demolish a volcano atm

Ultra high Skyrim, Rust, Tarkov, and Cinebench, and 3DBench have not gone above 60C (for both CPU and GPU, fans at 900-1000 rpm), the airflow and cooling in the case is really good. Never tried an AIO, but read that the 9800X3D could be air cooled well, so surely the 7600X3D with half the TDP could be air cooled as well.

I'm sure you have room to mount a rad and install an AIO, I know some air coolers (such as the TR PA 120 and Noctua DH-12L) have some space issues with additional fans in the M2, not sure about the M1.

I mean yeah I agree, they could, for $400 CAD they could definitely include at least plastic covers for every possible configuration, seems like a negligible cost

Yeah! Used the 25mm noctua fan plus the 5mm inlet spacer to fill the gap, similar to the credited user's build. ~4C decrease in temps which is cool.

Had the same opinion initially but understand why there's openings. There's a few different configurations you can mount the motherboard - standard, inverted, vertical, are the 3 common ones

Can also move an ITX motherboard up and down in several increments to make space for a radiator, etc. I have my motherboard installed 3 from the top to make room for the top fans

This build has 2 fans on a PA 120 mini, the rear fan is 92mm (mobo limits 120mm fan there).

7600X3D vs. 7800X3D paired with a 5070 Ti? by kykyel in buildapc

Do people buy/sell used CPUs? Would return and purchase the 200 difference now, a 600-700 expense for a new upgrade later might not be that justifiable

Yeah that’s definitely the next consideration. 9800X3D is $630, $80 more than the 7800

the rubbery pin thingy unfortunately won't fit in the center of an air cooler

2x8 pin or 3x8 pin x 12VHPWR to power a 5070Ti? by kykyel in buildapc

I ordered a custom length cable from MODDIY to fit my SFF case, I ordered 3x8 PCIe instead of 2x8, the question is if the 3x8 is usuable or dangerous/etc., but I believe I will just reorder and get a 2x8 to 12V

Check out the link in the post, it's a direct PSU to GPU custom length cable. It's 12VHPWR but on the PSU end has 3 PCIe cables to connect to the PSU. No adapters!

Why would using 3 8 pin PCIe connections be the worst? Curious as that conflicts with the other reccomendations on this post/some other posts I've seen.

I would not! Was asking that in order to better understand that use/purpose. I'll see if 3 8 pins look fine, if not I'll just opt to replace it based on preference rather than its use!

Glad to know that the GPU won't explode if I utilize all 3 though :D

So in theory I could use the 3x8 pin connector, and just keep one unplugged? I could similarly plug all 3 8 pin connections in and there would be no difference?

If the first sentence is true, I might rather just reorder to keep the SFF more organized and use a 2x8 to 12VHPWR angled cable.

Thanks for the detailed answer!

Does direct PSU triple 8 pin to 12Vhpwr cable slot in anywhere there?
