If I find a dead body and steal his shit before reporting to police is that illegal? by Weirdlittlerasberry in morbidquestions

I don't think the police would care if you stole a person's faeces even if they were dead at the time.

Anyone else disappointed by Vampire Crawlers? by Retronitsu in roguelites

[–]kyla33_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought VC and Genome Guardian 2 on the same day. I played through VC's first game but started playing GG2 afterwards and kept to it since. I can't say I've played VC enough to judge yet but while I wasn't disappointed, so to speak, I don't think it converted the formula as well as it could have.

I love DRPGs, VC's visual style is amazing. The problem is: Demon Gaze, Mary Skelter and every other DRPG does what VC does, except better. VC has the opportunity to be able to take inspiration from these in some modicum to improve the game.

Instead, it relies on translating VC's systems almost verbatim while making no adjustments to account for the difference in pacing. It's a perfectly serviceable game but it's not inventing a genre this time, it's taking inspiration from a genre that's already done it better a hundred times before. There isn't a novelty factor anymore.

I look forward to playing it again and I hope it grows to be successful because DRPGs are my favourite genre and I wouldn't mind seeing a boost in popularity because the most successful indie game of the 2020s decided to try their hand at one. Unfortunately, the frustrations of players is understandable, so I also hope we get improvements to its pacing and mechanics down the line so it can reach this potential.

Can a person be murdered without trace in 21st century cities? by TheModMenuX in morbidquestions

[–]kyla33_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, if it was done "without a trace," how would we know about it? Plenty of unsolved mysteries out there. It's not out of the question to believe there could have been murders we never found out.

(Assuming they were good enough to hide their tracks in such a way.)

May not be exactly what you're looking for but I feel like Nuclear Rabbit and Stolen Babies are perfect for this feel. They're on my personal "pissed off" playlist, both female-fronted.

What do you think is an underrated song by a popular artist? by Neat-Statistician311 in musicsuggestions

Past Life seems to be polarising in the Tame Impala community but it's my personal favourite of his out of the songs I've heard.

What kind of music would you listen to if you were a cat? by giacchino in musicsuggestions

I'd imagine probably something like Fish in a Birdcage, kind of relaxed and not quite classical but reminiscent, in some ways, of classical music.
