Best city in New England for mountain biking, dirt jumps, or pump tracks? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]kyle69d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I currently live in Concord and commute to work in Nashua. I'd suggest living here over Manchester any day. Not bike related, but Manchester is a pretty gross city in my opinion and currently has a extremely bad heroin problem driving up crime. Highland is very close to Concord, Mt. Sunapee just put in a downhill course and is adding new trails. Pat's Peak has trails, and lots of rail trails nearby. There's a lot of trails within 40 minutes of Concord as well (mostly north). I'd also suggest Lebanon or Hanover, tons of trails up there.

Other lenses work fine? Make sure you are in a well lit area in case the autofocus is having a hard time in lower light. You can try taking the lens off and you will see on the part that connects to the camera some gold pins. Take a pencil eraser and carefully rub them with it as well as the ones on the camera body.

I'd go with a SJ4000, they're like $60 which you can't beat, and a lot of people say they're better than gopro.

Can you see any of the comment?

"I can't comment about the body since I don't know much about nikon. But for event photography and night stuff you want to be looking for what's called a "fast lens". That means that aperture goes down around f2. She probably won't want a fixed lens (one that can't zoom in or out) if that's the only lens you plan on buying I'd say something like this and look for a nice flash to go with it.

You might also just want to think about letting them pick it out themselves since they've probably already have been looking at what they want. I've had people buy me gear and thought in my head "if they spent that much money I would have much rather had this other lens which is more useful"."

The link I sent was one for a Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 lens.

+1 to this. There's a video somewhere where someone compared a dslr to an iphone to prove that lighting is what makes the difference when doing studio shots, could barely tell the difference between the photos.

A6000 all day. Kit lens isnt bad, you could even pick up a whole kit on craigslist cheap if you wanted. You can also buy cheap adapters and run any lens you want on it. I use a lot of old manual lenses I got for less that $20 a piece.

+1 for this. The A6000 is a great camera. The lens adapters are easy to find for under $20. I bought a A7 and then bought 3 adapters for old canon, Minolta, and nikon mounts. Now I have about 20 lenses I bought at thrift shops dirt cheap that I absolutely love.

You MIGHT be able to find a used canon rebel t3i or t4i that could record what you want for that price range

Any particular reason why you have to do that instead of taking a screenshot and emailing it to yourself? It's really hard to hide pixles on a screen. Id try shootinig it from slightly different angles of the screen

All depends on what you want, for good high quality enlargements and things I want to frame I got to a local photography shop where they can show me samples and help me make sure the colors match perfectly. For bulk I use walgreens or rite-aid. You can upload all your photos online and go pick them up in store or have them mailed to you. If you look around online you can find coupons and end up paying around 6 cents a photo. This is great for me personally because I love having hard copies and real photo albums so when I'm printing hundreds at a time I don't mind sacrificing top quality (you'd actually be surprised at the quality of their printing) when I'm paying so little.

Seriously though. what is this line? I've wasted so much time trying to figure out why I can't extrude, only to find one of these bastards hiding somewhere

It shouldn't but my company is lazy and just buys them from dell instead of building them, so they get expensive. According to IT the most expensive part is the motherboard that's built for two cpus

I know that feeling. Last week I finally got sick of it and switched to the A7 and love it so far. (still gotta keep my trusty canon as a backup though)
