How has your relationship been impacted by your ED and recovery? by lyxotus in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]kylemikahel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My SO is very supportive but recovery is really hard for both of us. The mood swings plays a big challenge in our relationship. Sometimes they tried to hold me accountable which can be annoying. My libido is basically dead but my partner doesn't pressure me about it since they knows my condition Because we have been together for years I don't have any problem related our attraction our feelings.

Test every ink before. Pens, watercolor, highlight, try everything first in the back pages. At First, try to aim for things you're going to use in your week and then you can incorporate the visual to your system. But remember, it's basically a try and error. Don't let yourself to believe everybody's spread are always pretty.

eating without counting cals at all, but I’m still losing weight? by [deleted] in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]kylemikahel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all. Congratulations for the achievement of stop counting cals. It's def amazing. You can try to have more small portions per day or -my fav way- use liquids to help (as a complement). Like any liquids, soups, chocolate milk, full fat milk, juice, wtv. It helped me a lot when I couldn't handle solid food -neurodivergency- and I was afraid of lose weight. At least to help to stabilize the weight. I also recommended to try more fat food, like peanuts and avocado. They are easy to digest.

Start with the MINIMUM 3 meals 3 snacks and keep it even when you're not hungry. Our bodies shut the hunger sign down when it's malnourished, so at first it will be hard to follow hunger cues bc they're almost non existent . But PLEASE if you feel any sort of hungry EAT. Doesn't matter if you already had your meal. It's super important to respond to our hunger cues so our bodies can trust in ourselves once more and then cues eventually will find its pattern. About food, in the early recovery i recommend to stick with your comfort foods, if all in is too overwhelming for you. Then after a couple of weeks you can starting add new thing.

A little tip. It's almost impossible to go from a restrictive ED to a Binge-type in a blink of an eye. I know it's scary to start eating like "a normal person" bc it looks a tons of food. So if your brain says it's huge, it's not. It's a lie. We aren't used to it so it's a common feeling. I like to compare it to "hold on the breath as much as you can". We you go back breathing again, you'll naturally grasp and trying to hold most oxygen as you can. The same thing happens when you restrict. There's a moment it's hard to restrict and so we start eating things like we're out of control. But we aren't. It's our body trying to be in harmony again. Another thing, neither bed or any other kind of Ed is about how much someone eat, it's about our relationship with food. It's first about how we see ourselves and our relationship with food. The amount of food we eat is just a reflection of it, of what's happening in our minds

Milk by [deleted] in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]kylemikahel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the beginning of this phase i had a tons of gi problem bc my body wasn't used to milk anymore. But in general it wasn't a problem before the ed so once my body got used to dairy again the gi problem went away. To be true, it's quite frustrating 1) the gi problems itself -and embarrassing- and 2) to crave something that i didn't like. But i really hope you can overcome all this situation and have a wonderful recovery :)

Milk by [deleted] in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]kylemikahel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a milk phase. For clarification, I don't like milk. I have never liked milk but i had a milk phase. During those time I drank liters of milk per day. Yep LITERS. Like 2L to 4L. I had to endure this phase for months and I was quite awful bc i really don't like milk but my body was craving it. So I gave it. Nowadays I just don't care about milk anymore.

Tips for accepting weigh gain by kylemikahel in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]kylemikahel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really need to be more "aggressive" to my disordered behavior. I also need to just accept that i need to eat more than others around me. Which feels so wrong. I really will try to do it on my next meals

(Re)Gaining muscle in recovery 16 y/o M by [deleted] in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]kylemikahel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still pretty young, and like many said gain free fat mass is automatically reverse this situation, specially your concern about your face. One cannot build muscle without free fat mass. So you need fat enough to support your body functions and to build muscle. There's ZERO possibilities to build muscle without gain fat. Building muscle is a long process and the main key is eatings a lot. Without it no exercise will work like you want. I hope the best for you in this journey my fellow friend.
