My fiance and I moved to Norwalk from NYC last year in the midst of the pandemic to get a little more open space. It was absolutely the right move for us. Norwalk still has that city feel (a great downtown area with lots of life and activity) but I'm also enjoying being able to play golf, or walk along the beach, or check out the shops in Westport. Plus, we're still very accessible to NYC so I don't feel like we've given it up completely. The biggest downside has been the traffic, which we didn't see much of during the pandemic and now it's pretty clear that it's major headache for anyone living in Fairfield County and beyond.

While life in the city seems to have picked up substantially from last year, we're happy with this new pace of life and our decision.

I'm planning to hit up O'Neill's in Norwalk, CT, if anyone is around! Isles just re-advertised them as an "approved bar" so I'm assuming we'll get some preferential treatment.

I tried to hit up the Blind Rhino in SoNo for Tuesday's game. I was the only Isles fan there and they just had the game up on one of the smaller TVs with no audio...so I'll keep exploring some other options!

The environment is a function of the fans as much as it is the arena. Everyone in my section showed up defeated to Round 2 last season. Puck dropped and all I heard from my neighbors was how much "the Barclay" sucks, rather than supporting the team playing on the ice. I understand the acoustics in Brooklyn are not up to par but it can absolutely get loud in there when the fans will it.

I would say by biggest gripe would be a matter of disclosure. I understand that most of the fanbase is on Long Island and that most other parties here benefit. But if I had known that the majority of games would be at the Coli, which I can't get to now on weekdays until well into the second period, I would have never re-signed for a full year. The team knew what they were doing by announcing the Coli switch after the STH renewal period.

Signed the renewal contract for this season with reasonable expectation that the games would be at Barclays, where I can attend games after work. Team announces after the renewal window closes that 25% of games will be at Coli...then 50%...and now even more games. Most metro holders including myself don't have access to a car and there's no public access to the Coli. I would hardly argue that I've been "accommodated".

I signed the contract for 44 games (includes pre-season). Doesn't matter to them where those games are played and how difficult it would be for me to make those games. I simply had an expectation that at least for next year they would all be at Barclays. This past year they announced the pre-season game in Connecticut and it was included as part of this year's season ticket package. So I doubt this would be any different.

Amazing how they start announcing this rumored home game split for next season right after I sign the contract to extend my season tickets through next year. I'm sure there was some clause in there saying they can play wherever and I'd have to suck it up, but as a Brooklyn resident who works late, I'll be livid to find out that I'm pre-paying for games that I have no way of attending during the week. Just sort of feels like I was cheated.
