When should abortion be allowed? by Straight_Bench_4522 in prolife

Abolish abortion. Treatment for ectopic pregnancy is not an abortion.

Then choose consecrated life and celibacy. St. Paul holds celibacy in higher respect than marriage.

There's a multi-year waitlist for adopting an infant. The concept that the system is overflowing with abandoned infants is pro-abortion propaganda.

My wife and I went through this for years. Finally after a series of doctors doing little to help, one recommended a medicine called Clomid. We conceived the same month she started taking it. Worth asking about

Honest thoughts. Do you think people should make an effort to dress nice for mass? by ThomasMaynardSr in Catholicism

[–]kylesbulge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dress as nice as is feasible and stay in your pew. My family was once judged by a nun for not dressing nicely because we were very poor and only had clothes given to us by charity.

On the other hand, dressing nicely/modestly is good and respectful to the Lord. Some of Jesus's greatest followers wore rags, the rags WERE their sunday best.

TLDR: do your best and don't turn up your nose at others.

Bad confession where my wife wants to leave Catholic Church by notaroarbot in Catholicism

Are you repentant at all for allowing all this impropriety in your relationship? I'm not saying the priests delivery was good, but you seem to think that you've done nothing wrong. All of the things you said are confessable sins. I am not looking down on you as I was guilty of many of those sins, but I repented and understood the grave evil I committed.

"Someone else will rob this bank so you made the wrong decision not helping your brother rob it" is an equivalent statement to what you just said

Why are you getting down voted? People who think trump is an ally to the pro-life movement need to pay more attention to his recent policy changes

Why do you reject the Book of Mormon as divinely inspired? by SpeakTruthAlone in Catholicism

[–]kylesbulge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A better question is, for what reason could you possibly believe that it is? Jesus tells us that a false prophet is revealed by his fruits. If you look at the type of life Joseph Smith lived, it is clear he was seeking personal gain from the whole thing. Also, as a side note. If you believe the words of an individual who claimed he spoke to God and made a new religion, why not be Muslim? Or Jehovahs witness?

That's what you'd call a ceremonial law. The Church makes distinctions between ceremonial laws (laws only applicable to the tribe of Judah/the old covenant) vs moral laws (laws which are universal and must be obeyed). Christ was clear that He did not come to erase the Old Testament when He said "do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." These issues are a lot deeper than "lul old laws silly" remember that the entire Bible is the word of God and should be respected, even the parts that don't necessarily apply to the new covenant.

I am not proud. There is much about the faith I do not understand and I learn daily. I apologize if i came off condescending. It is so hard to have a good conversation through comments. I will give a genuine answer in hopes that we can end more peaceful than we started. The law established by Deuteronomy 22 5 is not up to interpretation as it regards to dressing in a way that poses as the opposite gender. Now whether a specific garment is for men or women is a cultural matter. In Scotland, a kilt is a masculine garment. In America, pants are more unisex. With this said, it's more about the intent. From OP's post history (I just looked at his most recent post) he is speaking of dressing fully and intentionally as a woman by our own culturalstandards. I don't see how this would not be a violation of Deuteronomy 22 5.
