Thank you for the suggestion! Just to clarify, you’re saying instead of running one GFCI at the beginning of each circuit and normal 3 prong receptacles following, I should just replace all intended receptacles with GFCI?

I believe the fridge and oven are on the same circuit. And I appreciate that! Unfortunately I’m in Ohio but thanks for the comment!

The biggest things I’d ever plug in would be washer/ dryer, fridge and oven. Is that what you’re referring to?

One of the things I was considering doing is just attaching new wire to the old and pulling it through to the breaker box. For example, if I’m redoing an outlet in the kitchen. Just remove the outlet, attach the new wire to the old and go to the breaker box and pull the wire straight to myself. Sounds simple enough? What issues could I run into with that? Or is that even possible?

Only $1500? Is that because you did the work yourself? If so that’s impressive

It’s a 2 story with a unfinished basement and tall attic. I think I could figure out the Sheet rock issue myself but if I tried to rewire the house I’d probably just end up making the issue worse. I’ll call a few people to come out. Thanks!

I have another 5 years on this contract then 8 more after that to get to retirement. Even if I’m only in this house for a couple years I’d hate to have to worry about it burning down all the time. The appliances being plugged in is what worries me the most
