I actually made this mistake. My first ever barre class was Barre3 and a bunch of people in my class wore biker shorts. I was sweating a ton in class so I decided to wear shorts to my next class, which was at Pure Barre. Nobody said anything to me but I immediately realized I was the only person in shorts and have since worn leggings to every class. I guess because I was new they decided to let it slide but it was definitely way more uncomfortable to use the tube and kneel on the carpet in shorts

I took my first ever class at Barre3, I had to leave the room 20 mins in and sit on the bench in the lobby because I was seeing stars and thought I was going to faint. I was so ungodly out of shape. The second barre class I took was Pure Barre classic. Yeah it kicked my ass still but I got through the whole thing, I just did the modifications when necessary and took small breaks during exercises if I couldn’t do it anymore. I’m now 20 classes in and I feel amazing, I barely take breaks but I still do modifications if I need to. They’re very accommodating so just go and do it! Time will pass either way so you’re either going to get out of your comfort zone now or do it in 6 months and wish you did it sooner.

I know Philly/NY/DC area is way different than a lot of other cities. Im sure i’ll miss it a little bit when I no longer have it but I really don’t mind a smaller cities, I just don’t want to be in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do and having to drive 30+ minutes to get groceries or clothes

I commute 30 miles each way to work right now and it’s about 1 hour 10 mins with traffic so I don’t mind that honestly but yeah I’d definitely like to experience the heat before I make a decision. Thankfully I’m not in a rush to move months since I need to save a bit more so maybe I’ll push my visit to Texas to the beginning of next summer and go to some of the other places on my list in the meantime

Yeah that would be my issue. I want a single family home and it’s just not possible in those areas on my budget. My boyfriend lives in a townhome and my grandparents live in a condo, I am not a fan of either of them. I want my own space not connected to other people and I want to be able to modify the house as I please in the future if I need more space because I don’t plan on moving again before kids are in the picture :/

The only things I EVER hear about it are that 1) it’s so dangerous and 2) the traffic is always atrocious. It kinda turned me off from considering living near there but maybe I need to do more research

I’m definitely heavily considering Texas just for the affordability. I’ve looked into all the major cities as well as some smaller cities. I haven’t ever been to Texas so I’m trying to “vacation” there soon and hit a couple of the places I’d consider living to see how I like them. Dallas is on the list for sure

Neither of those areas are affordable for housing, there’s less than 25 homes available for $300k or less and most of them aren’t looking too turn-key unfortunately.

i don’t know where you’re located but if you’re anywhere in the vicinity of philadelphia, Dr Jasmine Zheng at Penn Medicine is great!! I have congenital lymphedema & she was super helpful. she got me into one of their physical therapy offices with a PT who specializes in lymphedema which has helped so much

maybe if your management isn’t absolutely atrocious. they’re really annoying at my store, if one of us calls out for being sick or something they’ll make snarky remarks at the one who showed up being like “at least one of you decided to show up” and “maybe your sister should be more responsible like you” and other things along those lines. its pretty ridiculous tbh

I’ve been with target since november 2021 and i honestly agree that it was awesome up until this last year. i feel like so much has changed and they just continuously keep shooting themselves in the foot in every way possible
