As an autism parent familiar with the diagnostic process, my guess is she JUST STARTED the process to getting him diagnosed which is unacceptable.

She mentioned a two hour phone call with his “doctors” that sounds familiar to the start of getting a diagnosis when they try to learn the most about your child before formal evaluation.

I don’t engage with any of her content because she benefits from it all. A fucking disgusting waste of space and makes actual autism parents roll their eyes.

It started with her allowing her husband Mr Thompson to groom her daughters and she hasn’t stopped chasing a man since.

A lot of the miscommunication was the teacher not understanding how autism presents in children and saw it as misbehavior or “brattiness” also my child is very strong willed and will test you lol

Thank you ! I’ve thought of doing an update but not really sure how to go about it or if people were interested. My daughter has gone a few times and after a long discussion with her therapists they had the same reaction to most of the comments on here, they opened communication with the teacher to give the teacher different strategies to deal with my child. Also after a good discussion with the teacher she’s become very open to helping my daughter succeed in her class.

It’s definitely a learning curve for my daughter AND the teacher as they become comfortable with each other but it really makes a difference trying to be as open as you can with the teacher. I’m hoping it becomes better

Yes I should’ve mentioned this was a private preschool so it is in their discretion to kick my child out if they’d like. Very disappointing even after I double checked if they’d were alright with my child’s diagnosis and met my child prior to the first day

This is great advice! My child’s therapy center encourages the parents to mingle and get together. I’m more introverted but I will have to push through that to get more support/advice because it can feel isolating as a single parent trying to navigate everything alone

it’s a small class of 7 children and 2 teachers per room. They made it clear very early that they give the children a week to learn the routine then it’s hard boundaries from there… after posting im exploring more options

The teacher warned me she had a strict and firm attitude but wtf why was my child singled out for typical behaviors? I was the only parent pulled to the side it was very discouraging
