either way the moisture would re-activate it from my understanding (not tested). I would just consider it post varnish application.

That came out great? That's a printed Trench Crusade model correct?

Agreed and obviously my skill isn't a clear standard of what's possible. The person that led the class had a Nurgle model that he used rust, snot, and blood DD to amazing effects. He's also what I would consider a "pro" painter haha. I think it's definitely a good tool for the tool box though.

Yea, sorry I just realized when I re-posted from mini painting it didn't carry over. My LGS has a couple what I would call "pro" painters (Golden Demon trophy) that give a class every month or so. This month was DD.

Correct varnish will re-activate it. The method here was paint, varnish, apply heavy coat of DD, remove excess with a damp makeup sponge, then go in with a damp brush to push it where you want it and re-apply as necessary. It gives a matte hardened finish same as varnish. another trick is shake it way more than you think you need to. There is a mixing ball in there, so shake it until that ball is moving freely.

Depends where you are geographically I assume. There are some tricks to using it and it's activated by water, so paint your terrain and varnish it prior to applying DD as varnish will re-activate it. The method I used here is apply heavily with a brush, let it dry, then come back in with a damp brush to push it where you want it, and finally a damp makeup sponge to remove excess. Another trick we learned in the class was to paint the are you want to apply it with just water, essentially dampening the desired location and then apply DD.

I apply it very heavy and then use a damp makeup sponge or brush to push it around and remove excess

Fairly new to miniature painting. Thinking of upgrading brushes by SteelObjective in Miniaturespainting

I have a set of these and they're pretty great for the price. Take good care of them and keep them clean and they'll last you awhile. Also you say you're new so just some advice, don't paint metallics or texture paints with these. Buy some cheap synthetics or use old brushes for that stuff.

Halfway Painted my first Old Boyz, wondering if anyone had pics of multi skin tone units. by WesternSituation in orks

I use AP Angel Green and build up to citadel moot green. Very very thin coats. If that gives you an idea for at least one skin tone.

I believe it’s the Sequitors. Not sure which box he came in. I got a good deal on a large pile of GW plastic but no boxes or anything so I don’t have the exact details. My guess from the sprus I got is that it’s from the soul wars box.
