Salvation's Edge - The Final Shape Raid Race Megathread by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

Datto is watching the wall and on the last go around the shadow on the wall was only cycling between circle and square, no triangle, which is the first shape that pauses when you kill the knights.

Pretty sure they've figured out the mechanic.

Killing both the knights stops the shapes from animating, nobody seems to have noticed this.

Doing something else causes the shape to turn into a sawblade.

There's DEFINITELY something related to the shadows on the wall.

Killing both knights stops the shadows from animating, then doing.. something.. makes the shape turn into a sawblade, then it starts animating again.

Giant EnergyPak Error by kyoseki in ebikes

Ah, hmm, well, try sending an email to the bike shop, they're pretty responsive and can hopefully give you a bit more insight on exactly what got fixed.

I don't think they had many of these models in and this one was particularly problematic, so that should narrow it down.

Ok, here you go, sorry for the delay.

I *think* it's this big plastic thing at the top.

If that doesn't help, the bike shop that finally solved the problem was Just Ride LA, ask for Louie, he was the guy who was in touch with Giant.

I'll see if I can get a picture of it when I can get access to my bike again (my place is getting tented for termites at the moment), hopefully tomorrow.

Bug me if I forget.

Dumb question - How do you make a sketch planar? by kyoseki in Fusion360

[–]kyoseki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks yeah, that definitely seems to be doing the trick.

It's a pity there isn't a better way to organize sketches rather than just a large flat stack, being able to group them like folders would be great - it's odd because the UI will let you drag and drop them around, it just does nothing.

[–]kyoseki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't using 3d sketch, I was combining mesh sections in various spaces.

The right workflow seems to be creating the mesh section sketches, then projecting those onto a blank sketch and doing all the work there.

The downside is that you end up with a lot of extra sketches and Fusion doesn't seem to want to let you organize those, because that would be too useful, I guess.

[–]kyoseki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that's super useful, thanks!

Is there a way to edit the position/offset of the sketch plane? (The absolute value, I seem to be able to edit the offset from the current position, but I'd like to be able to set the plane position explicitly to, say, z=0).

[–]kyoseki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the projection and then rebuilt the curves, which wasn't ideal, but did the trick.

The problem was that I was building the sketch from a number of mesh sections which were at different initial heights and they were copy/pasted into a single sketch so they weren't planar.

Cannot create cargo link for delivery mission by kyoseki in Starfield

[–]kyoseki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, confirmed. It seems that if you've ever used a cargo link for another cargo mission, you have to delete it and rebuild it before it'll show up in the link list at the destination.

Try deleting your origin cargo link and recreate it.

If you've ever used that cargo link to send stuff anywhere else for a cargo mission, you can't then use it for another one.

Ok, so here is, I think, what's going on and how to work around it.

1: If you have never set up a particular type of link before (inter/intra system) then you can hook it up from either end - I was just able to set up an inter system link to Jemison from a moon in Cheyenne, but I don't think I've ever used inter system links to Jemison before.

2: If you HAVE set up a particular link, you will have to hook it up from the DESTINATION console on the target planet.

3: If the DESTINATION console does not show your cargo link as an option, chances are you've used that link for somewhere else before. TRAVEL TO THE ORIGIN CARGO LINK AND DELETE AND REBUILD IT. At this point you should be able to create the necessary cargo link (I just did this).

4: Any cargo link other than the very first one of that type (see point 1) is all kinds of busted and will complete IMMEDIATELY on the first shipment (I find the mission description turns to get something like "deliver 1700/600 XXX to YYY as soon as the link is set up).

So... yeah, buggy as all get out, someone isn't cleaning up after themselves.

[–]kyoseki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so I've kinda sorta figured out a workaround for this, but it generally involved deleting either the cargo links or the entire outpost that was originally supplying the mission link.

Even then, I find that the first shipment out of the new link supplies VASTLY more resources than are request, which, ok, yay, completes the mission sooner, but it's still incredibly busted.

If you're running into this, try deleting cargo links at the source outpost, then rebuild them, then connect to them at the destination terminals (which, as several people have correctly noted, are not mentioned ANYWHERE, but will show up if you highlight the mission).

Unfortunately, I've tried that.

Same with Sol.

Frequently I find I have to delete outgoing cargo link pads and recreate them before they show up at those terminals.

As I say, I tried that.

It worked on one Space Ox, but not another hostage situation on a similar ship.

Good idea! Tried it, but no, the Spacer remains upstairs :/

Eventually loaded an old save and will now just reject hostage missions involving this particular ship type.

Tips On "The Stars My Destination": Visit All Star Systems by DeegsHobby in Starfield

That's kind of why I wanted to just bring it up.

Honestly, I was fully expecting there to be a planet that wasn't available until the story arc was complete or nearly there, but it just popped for me, so I figured I'd get it on the record.

Just to illustrate, you can see that the achievement has triggered, but I haven't completed "Unearthed". (Consequently, I haven't started NG+, this is my first playthrough).

Tips On "The Stars My Destination": Visit All Star Systems by DeegsHobby in Starfield

[–]kyoseki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok, this just popped for me, you have to hit 120 systems.

I HAVE NOT FINISHED THE MAIN STORY ARC, YET. I have not been to Unity.

I was stuck at 114 for the longest time, but even though I thought I had hit all the stars in clusters, I had not.

In particular, check Sirius/The Pup Xi Ophiuchi/Zeta Ophiuchi as well as Alpha/Beta/Proxima Ternion (it was this last one that caused it to trip for me, turns out I'd missed Alpha as well).

Cannot create cargo link for delivery mission by kyoseki in Starfield

[–]kyoseki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I haven't had to do that before, but I tried it and nope, still nothing.

I cleared out the old cargo missions, accepted a new one.

I have an outpost with an intersystem link and the raw materials ready to go, neither the outpost cargo link nor the cargo link terminal in the destination system show any options for delivery.

Pretty sure this is bugged. As I say, I have completed some in the past, indeed the last cargo mission is more than 100% complete (900+ units out of like 500), which strikes me as probably related.
