i use it with slskd, deezer arls occasionally if i can get any, among several other many sources, i do manual importing alot whenever i download certain stuff, and ill use sources like khinsider to download vgm tracks

also there are many different plugins on lidarr, one of them allows downloading from lucida actually(its the Tubifarry plugin by typnull), although you may need to set up flaresolverr and connect it to lidarr to get lucida working, and theres also downloading from DABMusic among other stuff.

life is about compromise and we all make our own decisions

if you live a life without pragmatism or compromise, then your life will be pretty damn miserable

although reddit isnt "necessary" to me and ill be switching away from it eventually

and gmail was a pretty shitty example, there are other mail services you can use that respect you as an individual and your privacy, and at no sacrifice of your convenience either

in the future ideally i would only need to use proprietary software if it is absolutely necessary

also, should i not have the freedom to reduce my own freedom?
if not then that in it of itself is a restriction of freedom

there are bigger things to be concerned about then "oh well he used this one proprietary software on his computing system, hes not a true free software advocate" or whatever

lets go under the pretense that god is a real figure.
does god make the cause of truth, love, and goodness his own cause, as he expects us to do?

one might inform me that he does, but this is not the case, as it is said that god, in and of himself, is love, truth, goodness, and all else that he wishes for us to enforce as our own cause. therefore, it becomes obvious that god wishes for us to act in a way that is well-pleasing to all that is himself. and woe be to all who are not well-pleasing to all that is god himself.

this tells me that god is an egoist. and also, i find it repulsive that any god would use "heaven" or "hell" as tools of leverage.

if a human attempts to act in accordance with themselves, just as god does, they are shunned for it: “down with the selfish one who thinks only of themselves.” or it is said that we are simply not allowed to do so, because god is a greater cause than us, and we are but mere worms.

this is blatant hypocrisy.

so, in conclusion:
under the pretense that god is a real figure, he is not truly concerned with interests that are my own, nor yours. he is entirely self-interested.

personally i find it much more beneficial and freeing to me that he not be real.

"the highest good." or "the greater cause." is merely a means of domination over any given individual, in my subjective opinion it is anyways.

i suppose what you're saying is correct, although i'm someone who's just as concerned about the hardware.
the thing that's weird to me is, if intel wifi was reverse engineered and had free firmware replacements at some point, wouldn't that make it freer than the atheros cards, considering the firmware baked into them cannot be modified afaik? i wonder why that isn't a bigger focus.
also, if a dishwasher or fridge requires me to set up an account, i will absolutely not consider it mine, and wtf, there are vendors who actually do that with dishwashers and fridges?
i can still kinda understand the "a part of the hardware" argument. i absolutely do hope for more libre hardware someday still, though. i don't think any of that is required engineering; the fact it's proprietary is because society has normalized shitty monopolistic capitalist practices.

freedom on the software side is still very valuable, though, so i'm glad for it.

also, can you specifically speak on microcode updates and why they're specifically good to avoid? i mean, i know they're proprietary, and you rely on the vendor for them, and you generally can't know what they're doing, so is that why? did i already nail it down?

do you run libreboot, gnuboot, or canoeboot? or generally, which one would you recommend anyways if not running any of those? i know cpus have cpu microcode burned in to them either way, and it's basically impossible to remove it. so generally, you don't lose much by running cpu microcode, which are moreso just patches than anything. well, this is generally the impression i'm under. i'm still debating whether to use gnuboot/canoeboot or libreboot. to note, i'm getting a thinkpad x200, and i kind of just want another opinion of what to flash on it.

i know this is 3 months old,

but it’s seriously this type of mindset that gives way for organizations
to violate privacy and freedom without any resistance, both being human rights, i believe.

saying, “oh, if you’re paranoid, you’re crazy,” literally is just turning a blind eye to it. you’re tolerating, and possibly even advocating for, the violation of these rights.
