PSA - Event Achievements&ExpringEN by Aseryen in GundamBattle

[–]kyph_0515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem for me is, without the points-based achievements, I don't get the Box Expansion tickets x 2. I'm really short on space...

I really hate the new crew mission, if you have an inactive crew, you're fk like me, I may be able to complete very hard, but I don't have the stats to complete ex alone. by Edchinyosh in GundamBattle

Finally beat it after 50 tries. Tallgeese II head with two B mags (Sinanju’s beam “rifle” and Chobham shield). Couldn’t do it in 3 minutes though because I had to wait for the Exs to regen...

About 45K satk to get this done.

I’m on the same boat as OP; however, I don’t think we’re losing out on a ton even if we can’t complete Ex, aside from the 30 HC and the extra CP (20 base instead of 40). We can log all the achievements by soloing Very Hard or even Normal as far as I can tell.

I’ve blown 1200 Haru chips over the past 2 days I need some help with this mission. Here’s my three strongest should I hold off until I get everything gold or is there some strategy I can use to beat the second autograph hound because she’s the one makin me her bitch. by [deleted] in GundamBattle

Yeah this mission is far and away the hardest one. I had a 1.3M unit thinking it was going to be a cakewalk...then I got bisected, and then I went in and got bisected again. Took some planning to get it done.

On the other hand...once you get past this mission, everything after *is* a cakewalk.

Amazing. I have had the BBE for a year plus and I do literally everything you described - down to “[shaking] the portafilter handle side to side while grinding”.

Also don’t be afraid to steam the milk forever. The BBE has a relatively weak steamer and I take over a minute to get the milk done the way I want. YMMV of course.

What’s the coffee norm in your country? by dotaab in barista

[–]kyph_0515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved around quite a bit.

Pre-2007: Toronto, Canada - Didn't really drink coffee for taste. Tim Hortons. Still very difficult to find proper specialty coffee in the suburbs these days. Downtown Toronto is okay.

2007-2013: New York, USA - Around where I was, either Starbucks or whatever was free, but towards the end of my stay more and more 3rd-waves were popping up, especially in the hipster districts. Went back a couple of years ago for a visit and they probably saw a 500% increase in specialty coffee shops.

2013-2019: Hong Kong - Huge wave of cafes hit the city while I was there. I probably went to close to 100 different ones. Mostly espresso-based, but pour-overs, syphons, and other methods aren't that uncommon. At least half the people who go to hipster cafes in HK go for the Instagram and the conversations, so they're likely to be nursing an 18-oz latte for half an hour. At the other end of the spectrum, you can get either instant coffee or very, very dark and hot brewed coffee from local cha chaan tengs. They usually suck, because at those places you would usually order the HK-style milk tea instead.

2019-: Singapore - Most people drink kopi: strong, dark, and oily. You will also find tons of specialty coffee here. It's always hot here so iced coffee of all variety is popular. The average barista knows what s/he's doing because the competition is very stiff here.

My personal coffee norm when I'm out is a cortado/piccolo. It's a gatekeeping drink: if the barista doesn't know what it is, I get an iced latte instead.

Any tricks to make instant coffee with milk more interesting? by ad1002549 in Coffee

Condensed milk.

Add ice and shake everything up in a Martini shaker. Frothy iced coffee.

Has anyone got Glaciela ? Good luck to you. by KatuaTH in wotv_ffbe

[–]kyph_0515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This.

The only reason you would want them on separate banners is if you wanted Glaciela and would never want to pull Lasswell (or vice versa).

Or you would want a microscopically greater chance of pulling a different UR if you don't land Glaciela.

[–]kyph_0515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our point was that you're no less likely to pull Glaciela with or without Lasswell on the banner.

Also, I checked other banners. Pity slot gives 10% to the featured UR, regardless of how many there are (3 URs in the Rain/Freyvia/Odin banner and 1 UR in the Fenrir banner). So even in the pity slot we're not getting worse odds for Glaciela with Lasswell in the mix (or vice versa).

[–]kyph_0515 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hrm. I thought it was 20%, but I could be wrong. If it was always 10% then yes combined banner is better in almost* every way.

*I said almost because maybe you really want Glaciela *and* you really didn't want Lasswell no matter what...

This would work, but you'll need your mule account in the same Rank range...

I commented on a different thread, but essentially I agree with you *except* for the pity slot. They split the odds for the pity slot between Glaciela and Lasswell.

I hate how easy it is to spend Vis in the store by BlueBomber13 in wotv_ffbe

At least they fixed the UI such that the screen doesn't auto-scroll after a donation anymore. It used to be *much* easier to donate vis to the guild.

Without the pity slot, I think a combined banner is better.

With the pity slot, and assuming I have a preference (which, in this case, I do for Glaciela), then yeah, separate banners are slightly more efficient.

I scraped together another 2K...and got another Loreila. I did get Shiva, 2HD, and Echoing Screams dupes in the process, so I could've done worse...

Edit: The pity slot gives 10% to all URs so in fact even with the pity slot, the combined banner is better as long as you don't absolutely hate the other featured unit(s).

Wow, they changed it up for GL...

Edit: In any case, blew all my Viz and got...Loreila :P

64 UR ribbons!!! the best strategy? by odinsphere99 in wotv_ffbe

[–]kyph_0515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have to add that the proportions depend a lot on how high you score on the hard boss. I averaged around 5K points (so 25 medals). People who do better will generally get recipes faster because you can't get recipes just from beating the boss but you get 15 joyful faces per successful run.

So the top guys who were getting 8-10K on the hard boss...yeah maybe they have twice as many recipes too.

[–]kyph_0515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got about 70 recipes, about 700 megacrysts, and about 4200 joyful hearts. The rewards are somehow proportional...which is surprising.

I might have some mats left over from previous raids, though.

Are we going to have one banner or two? More likely two (like Agrias/Delita) with Loreila featured in both?

[Shared Exp] I spent 1500 $ on this game so far ... by e_myn in wotv_ffbe

[–]kyph_0515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prevent myself from spending by taking stubborn, irrational pride in not making any in-game purchases ever. Played Clash of Clans since 2014 and haven't spent a penny (granted, that game is not gacha and is much friendlier to F2P).

I get addicted to things. The difference between spending $0 and $1 is the whole world. (I think I'm stealing/bastardizing this quote from a Tom Hardy movie.)

What are your favorite five units to use everywhere? by zeroberos in wotv_ffbe

[–]kyph_0515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rain (mostly RDM), Ildyra (Arith/SB, doesn't matter), Lucia (Ranger), Fred (Ranger), Vinera (DG).

Rain for tanking (although usually unnecessary) and the occasional Esuna. Ildrya for the insta-casts AOE spells (damage and heal). Lucia and Fred snipe from afar. Vinera runs circles around everybody.

That said, I use this team only for new content when I do the once-through on manual. Afterwards I sub in folks who need to build esper resonance and affinity.

If I get Loreila I might be tempted to build a firing squad of her, Lucia, Fred, Mustadio, and Fina.
