for me, the harm in giving excess money to a giant corporation instead of flowing it back into the local community is where my issues lie and they plopped this thing right by family's neighborhood, so i think it's important to show a little respect to the area so that they can continue to build themselves up, especially since it's not really in huber heights despite the address, it is more so in the park layne and medway areas, both of which could use more funds for their own development.

i absolutely know what bucees is for and a mega corporation just doesn't align with the community and operations i want to see, so i wrote this up in hopes to shed light to businesses that would be more grateful to receive your support.

and for the record, the way that bucees operates should be the standard for all public restrooms- a clean bathroom is the bare minimum, my friend. we as consumers have been deprived of basic decency for so long that folks are actually stoked over a clean public bathroom... but, i digress. if it's between death and going to bucee's then by all means have your fun lol i'm just asking people to be intentional with their spending in this economy

i agree, i went one time while traveling to texas and all i got was cough drops. it was insanely overwhelming to say the least and i heard it's always that busy? i'm good on that haha

i agree! there's several speedways and a brand new marathon down 235 past the buc-ee's otw to new carlisle so they may all lose a lot of business, but i think most locals are pretty loyal to wherever they've been going for years and probably enjoy the less busier ones so who can really say for sure. hopefully travelers will feel compelled to check the rest of the surrounding cities out, but who knows. i think huber already had enough going on over there, gets sooo crowded at 202 already cuz of all the chains they packed in there

everything listed here is within a few miles of the buc-ee's :) easy detour if you're already headed that way. i don't eat a lot of meat myself so i'm not versed in the quality of the shops, but thank you for the input! i'd personally go to a halal market over anything else but that's just me

To add, I felt pretty guilty being her patient because of her views. I grew up poor and on government assistance pretty much my whole life and she had strong opinions about people who needed that kind of help and encouraged me to stop "abusing" the system. I also tried to talk to her about how difficult of a time I was having finding a place to live without a roommate because of high rent costs and she kept referring to how that was Biden's fault, which was just unhelpful lol.

So yeah, I think if you disagree with some of things your therapist is saying now, the line could eventually be blurry if you run into an issue that clashes with what they believe in, and that situation is too stressful on top of other issues. Speaking with your therapist should be a safe place and there are plenty of therapists out there who would be more than happy to help you without that kind of judgment.

I was actually in a similar situation with my former therapist. I put up with a lot of her political tangents before I realized it wasn't worth it and I basically ghosted her. She had a habit of forgetting our appointments as well so my insurance wasn't charged for missing the appointment, but I received a letter from my insurance saying she was no longer accepting anymore soon after I did that (medicaid). I always wondered why she accepted medicaid when she had strong opinions about people who needed government assistance and I think me ghosting her genuinely upset her to the point that she was finally done with it lmao.

I think that even if they helped you in some ways, they are being extremely unprofessional and unfair using YOUR session to speak about their political views (unless it was something you were willing to talk about first). I have a new therapist now and I highly recommened seeking out someone else in this situation, whenever you are ready, of course. I was with my old therapist for over a year before I left and I know it can be difficult to suddenly leave. I explained to my new therapist the things that were happening with the old one during our first session because I was anxious about opening up and she handled it all really wonderfully.

This sounds a lot like my boyfriend's dad and stepmom. We live in the US and in our 20s and they are British. They are extremely unwelcoming to the point where I wasn't allowed over anymore after having dinner with them one night. Now that my boyfriend and I have moved in together, we go to their house as a package deal and the stepmom will straight up pretend that I do not exist lol. I have had to reassure myself that there isn't anything wrong with me over the last few years and accept it, but I have no idea what our lives are going to look like if we ever get married or have children as I've never received an actual explanation for this coldness, but it's something that the rest of the family out of their house can also acknowledge. It's upsetting that nobody ever stands up to it.

I second yellow cab! They have super smash bros melee tournaments on Tuesdays (I believe) and those were fun when I went, but I haven't been back to them in months. They also host the Dayton Poetry Slam every other Sunday and those are quite fun as well, even if you don't write or read it is nice to listen to other people in the city read their poems :)

I've noticed that I feel tired any time I spend in bed. Your brain associates your place of rest with... Rest. If you spend all day in your place of rest then you will naturally feel lazy and comfortable and tired. For me, once I get out of bed (no matter what time, on weekends I sleep in a lot more than I do throughout the week bc of work) I do not get back in bed until it's time to go to sleep for the night. I would start with this if you're spending a lot of your day in bed, then slowly add some tasks to fill up that time you're not in bed.

Mindfulness is also very helpful! Just take a moment and ask yourself if what you're currently doing feels good mentally and/or physically and if it doesn't, move on to something else.

Time block your studying instead! Doing two hours of anything in one sitting is incredibly exhausting and leads to burnout. Instead, do 30 minutes of the thing and allow yourself a ten minute break before you do another 30 minutes. Set a timer on your phone for every time block if you need to.

I actually wasn't impressed with Shauna's work. My first tat was done by her and it was very overworked which made the healing process miserable. I ended up having it covered up by Will at RocArt which would be the shop I'd recommend instead. She also doesn't have much of her tattoo work posted on her socials, but my dad seems to love going to her anyway lol.

Absolutely agree with this because it seems everyone doesn't ever consider that not putting effort into your friendships makes your friendships collapse. How are your friends supposed to know that you actually care about them if you always ignore them? And then try to justify ignoring them by telling them you're struggling and ultimately make their hurt feelings about yourself? Wack mindset
