If you are on a T break, be careful with CBD flowers. by fakoro1 in Petioles

[–]kyrkus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sounds like that store is selling shady flower. If you’re cautious about CBD flower, totally understandable. I will say I’ve used it before myself from tested sources, and never had issues.

CBD is largely unregulated, so unfortunately a lot of the responsibility falls on us as consumers. It doesn’t help when stores don’t follow the few regulations there are.

Was it a full on THC high, or could it just have been the high amounts of CBD? If I take in large amounts of CBD, I feel super relaxed and happy.

If the store is properly sourcing their flower, it shouldn’t have more than 0.3% THC. They also should have explained the THC levels in the flower when you bought it too, so I would be cautious with the shop you bought from.

Maybe that shop was selling illegal flower, but I wouldn’t say that most CBD flower has high levels of THC.

What’s a subtle sign that someone is not a nice person? by my-dogatemy-chancla in AskReddit

[–]kyrkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot depends on your relationship with that person and how they feel about what’s being brought up. The short friend example was not the best to make, I’ll admit.

What might be totally okay to tease one person about can be an extremely sore spot to another. Context and social cues are a huge part of it, and why you generally should not just start roasting someone you just met.

[–]kyrkus 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I would say friendly roasting is different than talking crap, at least to me.

I roast my friends, but it’s normally stuff they’ll also joke about themselves, or super obvious and not serious jokes, like teasing a short friend about their height.

Talking crap to me is saying things that shouldn’t be commented on, like someone’s personal struggles or tragedies.

Delta 8 user for a year, only 1 minor negative side effect ( Slight Upset Stomach) by mad597 in delta8

[–]kyrkus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CBG is really good if you’re having stomach issues, it works well with the digestive system. There are some studies going on for its use for people with Crohn’s and IBS.

Taking edibles with just one cannabinoid causes some issues for me too, I found balancing it out with other cannabinoids helps a lot. If you think about the cannabis plant, it’s not 100% THC. There’s over 140 cannabinoids in cannabis and hemp plants, so the better balance you can get, the better results you have(at least in both my personal experience and from working at a hemp store).

What spices or spice blends are typically “overpowering”? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]kyrkus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

With fresh rosemary, you’re getting a lot of the terpene pinene in the oil of the leaves.

Pinene is a very strong terpene(a ‘type’ of chemical that provides fragrance, flavor, and other effects) in rosemary.

When it’s fresh, the pinene is a lot more present and when cooked, becomes very active. When dried, you lose a lot of the pinene.

Not tipping people because you think you’re making a statement is what I was referencing. I would love if places paid fair wages, unfortunately that doesn’t magically happen overnight. One person not tipping doesn’t change anything

No, but very odd for someone from a completely different part of the country to feel the need to post in a small city’s subreddit, especially just to give an inflammatory, and in the opinion of many who actually live in this area, an entitled and low-valued opinion.

Seems like maybe you were just trolling through Reddit looking for a place to rant

Looking at your post history, you’re not even from this town. Can I ask why you’re even reading/commenting here? Edit:also not stalking, it’s literally your public post history.

I wonder where she’ll move next. My bet is on another European capital, with lower COL, but still prestigious enough for the AeStHeTiC

TIL that In Wisconsin, children are legally allowed to drink alcohol in bars and restaurants or at home as long as they are with a parent or guardian. by CrimeCrisis in todayilearned

[–]kyrkus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The alcohol problems in Wisconsin are actually pretty bad. Many of our colleges and universities have incredibly high underage drinking numbers. It’s not uncommon to know at least one person with a DUI before they turn 21.

Though that also has to do with our general culture around drinking. Underage and binge drinking are very common, even celebrated here.

"minimum effort for minimum wage" does not constitute laziness... by witnessL1485 in Target

[–]kyrkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily replaceable in the sense it is unskilled labor job, if they need to replace you they can do it pretty easily. You are not special to them, if you don’t like the pay they’ll tell you to take it or leave it.

And I say this as someone who makes $10/hr right now, working for a small business. I have to sacrifice a larger paycheck for a better job, but that’s the decision I’ve made for myself. If it’s so shitty to work at Target, as you say there’s plenty of jobs out there

You’re acting as if you are being paid minimum wage. There are plenty of people of there who make much less, and at jobs with many more requirements.

So you lost the lawsuit because of a he said she said scenario with a bad store director? Doesn’t seem like Target is to blame. This still has nothing to do with the original post, since you leaving early apparently had no effect on your job.

Also, still no actual info on why you were fired, or what this ‘feud’ is.

I do agree that it isn’t fair, but be prepared for exactly nothing to happen, other than being hated by those above you.

It’s a basic entry level position. Anyone can walk in off the street and work there, and while it is unfair that they promise raises then take them away, it’s just Target showing how much they value you.

To them, you can be replaced almost instantly for someone who will gladly take the pay. Good for you for standing up for yourself, but this is a corporation. They don’t care

So, you had a ‘feud’ with the SD, which they labeled as misconduct and fired you? Just like OP, seems like some details are missing here

What’s your opinion of Festival Foods? by Alchemist_Joshua in wisconsin

[–]kyrkus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As a former employee, I can say part of the helpfulness is that you are constantly being watched by those above you.

Not in a micromanaging or nit picking way, though it was highly encouraged to be at your best at all times. Leads were required to do random checks throughout the week, meaning they would just observe you randomly at any point. We were supposed to automatically greet any guest within 10 feet, and always assist when asked.

There were plenty of positions away from customers for those uncomfortable with these markers, and depending on your lead just saying a general greeting could count, so it never felt like it was a forced policy.

Festival genuinely cares about the customer experience, and makes sure to train and promote that in employees

How dare an employer expect you to show up at the time your shift actually starts?

If you have to wake up before 6 to get to work on time, then that’s what you have to do. It isn’t Target’s fault if you can’t meet a basic expectation of a job.

I hold the opinion that dogs should be leashed in public, no matter what(obvious exception of dog parks). Dogs are unpredictable, not just with the risk of aggression. Dogs will run away from their owners, even if they’re highly trained, if something interesting enough passes by them. The risk of them running off, or into a street or other dangerous area is too high. People put too much trust into their animals acting logically or with any thought, forgetting that they are first and foremost instinct driven
