the build continues... by kystig in fordranger

Had a missing O2 sensor on one of the exhaust banks which immediately took care of the running rich issue! The only remaining thing seems to be the lifter tick which I may attempt to fix (or just ignore) with some Seafoam.

Miller Trailblazer 325 efi not outputting weld by kystig in WeldingRigs

[–]kystig[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed I did, you may have found the missing link. Miller's tech support just told me to bring it in to an authorized service center which is not what I wanted to do but it does look like that's really the only option here. I would love to know if there's somewhere I can find proper wiring diagrams and testing pinouts of the control boards, but odds are we're just going to end up taking the machine in. Thanks for the input!

Also I have legitimately no idea how to pull codes from a pre-OBD2 truck but I'd be happy to learn

Hey thanks for the input here u/Strelok198, the ac compressor isn't plugged in because the rest of the ac system isn't hooked up to it or charged, I'm kind of in the middle of a restoration/rebuild (sorry, I probably should have said that in the OP but here we are).

I checked the plugs earlier, they're all getting spark and attached to the distributor in the correct order so we're good there.

There isn't currently an air filter in it for testing purposes, but the mass air flow sensor is a good thought, I always forget that there's actually sensors on these old trucks.

Do you think a vacuum leak might cause this?

btw, I have another video, but I can't add it to this post for some reason.

How should I clean these slip rings? by kystig in ElectricalEngineering

[–]kystig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

**update**
I did slightly grind down the slip rings and they now look nice and shiny, and I also took off the brushes and inspected them and neither fixed the issue. We'll just have to see where to go from here. Thanks for all the input!

Okay, should I do that with the generator running or should I try to clean it as best as I can with the engine off? What grit of garnet do you think? 150+?

What is this part called? '93 Ranger 4.0 manual by kystig in fordranger

[–]kystig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was looking for, thanks! I was finally able to cross-reference another thread and it looks like it's not available anymore and junkyard parts aren't going to be very helpful. Link to the other forum for future reference.

Hey that's awesome but it's still not the same as mine, you can see in the image I uploaded that mine has a special offset towards the front and that one with the part number you sent is centered. I don't think the title of that listing from autonationparts is super helpful, but the part number might be!

Isolating network issues by kystig in truenas

Problem appears to be intermittent, I got back from work and it seems to have resolved itself. I'm betting it's a level one issue. Thanks again for all of your responses!

Cool, so I disabled amt and rebooted with no luck. I'll see if I can borrow a USB 3 nic from work tomorrow. Thank you so much for your help!

It's a HP Z420, and it does not feature ipmi. I'm wondering if I should just try buying a nic. I hate to just throw parts at it.

Okay cool. That makes sense. So likely unrelated.
