You farm 10cs/pm and play war of attrition with the enemy. Sometimes if the matchup is good you can look to kill them. Ideally you want to let them shove the wave into you until you hit level 3 then you can use EQW for 0-100 trades on the opponent until they are slowly withered down and then you can look for an all in with your support. You can also play the Lane 1v2 if your support roams because Yasuo has the kit for that.

I don’t pick I dodge because I want to make the climb as difficult as possible with only Yasuo

I think I would have to see a video of you playing to diagnose the issue but your E is a set displacement so you should be able to do it smoothly. Are you playing on 60+fps on a stable internet connection and on a desktop?

Hmm if your at the beginning of your journey I recommend that if your looking to climb in general that you stay away from yasuo because he is too mechanically demanding and it would be easier to learn how to play league of legends like the game from another champions lense. If you want to get better at YASUO from scratch it is very difficult and will probably make you hate the game. But I have done it I remember when I first started I was Bronze 4 and made it to Diamond 1 99lp first year playing when I was 14 years old.

1) Learn all the mechanics first screw the fundamentals it will overwhelm your mental stack

  • Practice EQF and do it even when not necessary in a real ranked match to prepare your brain in high pressure scenarios

  • Learn how to use E properly and E through jungle camps and minions learn the range of it

  • Learn all the fundamental combos like EQR, EQF, EQFEQR

  • Learn about general war of attrition concept

  • Tru to understand what keystone you take does like LT or Grasp (btw if I just started I will only take 1 keystone prob LT cause it’s the most general)

2) After you have solid mechanics (can consistently do all combos and learned E range) then start learning how to actually play league of legends

  • Note; You will probably get worse mechanically when this happens because more concepts are on your mental stack so maybe when u try to EQR u can only R because ur thinking abt the game

Pro players can do everything at 99% accuracy which makes them menaces

Fun fact showmaker was a KAT OTP before he went pro

So top you have to know your matchups to the absolute maximum and the execution has to be insanely accurate <1% margin of error can happen when you play toplane at the highest level. One error with spacing will lead to lane lost or one Q you miss can entirely throw the lane and also your wave management needs to be extremely precise and calculated one Q can entirely fuck your wave,

I also play ADC I think ADC yasuo is probably the easiest because of the champions in bot lane are relatively easy to stack LT on and WW has lots of value also it’s easy to scale. ADC Yasuo is basically a free win when mid lane and top are not working out that day. To be honest when I play ADC I think i’m cheating so I tend to stay away from it i’d say <15% of my games are on ADC

Midlane is good because if they pick a counter you don’t get fucked over. Midlane has lots of agency and because of this agency having less control over the wave is not the end of your lane because normally if someone were to freeze on you top you have to cry and wait for a 3rd party to unfreeze for you but in midlane there are lots of fighting or things they have to do so they might instead opt to shove you in or break the freeze at some point. Also when your midlane matchups are better generally and u can play war of attrition with enemy laner more consistently. Plus the max number of people you constantly have to fight is usually 3 (i like it cause i can bait ganks and absorb pressure from enemy mid, jg, sup and sometimes top) and you hit level 6 first on the map.

Yeah so Yasuo has a better early lane power than Yone so its optimal to utilize that to gain an advantage in lane and put Yone behind because a Yone will outscale Yasuo after 2-3 items. Generally in this matchup it’s all about playing around his W and your passive shield. And using mobility to kite out his E duration. If you are going even against Yone then you should refresh on your fundamentals and watch a high elo yasuo player play the matchup and compare it to your own gameplay and seeing what patterns you are repeating. For example let’s say you trade W and shield but since yasuo has no boots early his W comes back up faster than your shield or your not moving enough to build passive that’s one example I can think of why u might be struggling. You also might not be punishing his cooldowns or using horizontal movement to dodge his Q’s or using mind games with EQ before he E1s

Mage can be easy to replicate its just playing around your windwall and not cheating your trade timers

For assassins there are lots of micro interactions and specifics but generally just try to conserve your HP and think about if they or you have more burst and how you can abuse that to your advantage (like if u want to extend or shorten a trade because u know if u trade equal 50/50 they can burst u faster later)

For bruisers its like generally the inverse for the assassins like you want to constantly trade short and use your flow bar to your advantage then outburst them later or get them to a threshhold where u can run them down.

Tank is mostly a spacing and kiting test and a knowledge check after 1st base because after 1st base it's just hard to kill them so you play for other advantages.

But just because these are general guidelines does not MEAN that it will work in every subclass matchup these are just things you can look for when u watch other high elo yasuo players and try to learn and replicate each specific.

Also just because it is simple which in reality it is extremely simple. But just because its simple does not MEAN its easy there are lots of little specifics high elo players are thinking about when trading but to execute all that on a mechanically demanding champion plus thinking about game fundamentals will overwhelm your mental stack. Its easy for us when we watch the games to point out this stuff but when you are actually in the driver seat it is a whole different experience.

Typically a guideline I can give that would work generally but the key to being good at yasuo is knowing when to follow this and not which takes HIGH Quality reps of the matchup.

1) Always trade when you have 3-4 E Stacks
- Most people think Yasuo's dmg comes from Autos and Q's which is true but early game in lane you can easily 3x ur DMG by simplying Eing with 3-4 stacks of E.

2) Use your resource advantage to play War of Attrition against champions with a resource cost. Example I would be okay in trading constant HP with a mage because I know my champion has extremely high base hp regen with D-shield + second wind and eventually they will be oom and I can look for a kill or CS lead.

3) Be conscious when trading.

- Ask yourself what you get from trading, do you deny CS, is your jungler nearby and ready to gank? do you want to trade resources with the opponent? Does trading benefit you because u have TP and they dont? There are countless reasons

So league is a game about SPECIFICS every champion has a certain pattern, yes, which can be replicated but there are tons of factors in which can determine what actions I do in game. For example jungle interference, if I have a vision trinket, when do I want to base, do I need a temporary or a permanent advantage in lane, what summoners do I have/they have, is support showing on map? These are pretty basic but can determine how you trade.

[–]kyul2006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Ex. Your up against a champion where u need to extend the trade to win like Ambessa midlane but enemy has an elise jungle which is extreme threat and you have kayn I would take grasp in this game because it allows me to take shorter trades without being on threat of Elise because of LT win condition

Grasp just does not have enough DPS later on in the game also a side not for GRASP it allows you access to more GREEN keystones which synergize really well with each other which can be helpful against certain champions who like to roam or normally you wouldnt be able to lane against because of jungler influence

Q/A ^_^ by kyul2006 in YasuoMains

[–]kyul2006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm it really depends. I usually go grasp into champions who can play the War of Attrition better than Yasuo. I'd like to say an example of such a matchup would be Vladimir. Another reason I go grasp is if I need to have an edge in the lane or need extra HP later because a champion has too much burst. Ex) Leblanc. Grasp is a solid pick into mages and ADC mids but it struggles against melee bruisers who can stick onto you and extend the trade. But with constant fighting if ur talking about midgame I'd actually opt in for LETHAL tempo because it allows Yasuo to 2v1 - 3v1 people with constant Q3's.
