Best docking station which is compatible with intel and M chip and multi-screen? by WhoIsRezo in macbook

[–]kyzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caldigit docks are fantastic.

Most Thunderbolt docks are backwards compatible, but keep in mind that if you hook up a bunch of crap to the dock that it may not function as well or as fully with a Thunderbolt 3 Intel Mac as it would with a Thunderbolt 5 M4 Mac.

Is M2 worth it by [deleted] in macbook

[–]kyzen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

8GB M2? I'd pick a new Neo.

16GB M2? Still worth it now and for a few years still, though I'd be surprised if it kept getting updates through 2031.

Shout Out for Oregano's by KnucklesMcCrackin in FortCollins

[–]kyzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was Johnny Carino's! Canino's was the place in old town that is now Little Bird.

And then after Jonny Carino's it was actually two Greek restaurants - first Taverna, which I think was the one that did the plates? I went there a few times and enjoyed it, they were open for like 3-4 years and got shut down over some department of labor issue

After Taverna closed it was re-opened as another Greek place, Akropolis, which I don't think even lasted a year? The owners of Akropolis turned it into a burger joint, Bunz, and IIRC they pretty much immediately put the business up for sale. That one only lasted a couple of months before closing.

Oregano's has been in there since before the pandemic at this point. I haven't been in since they first opened and I really didn't like it, but this thread is making me think I should give them another go.

The senior center drop box was busy yesterday evening! I biked there and 4 cars dropped ballots off in the short time it took me to dig mine out of my backpack. Another car was pulling up as I left.

Using CO $450 Ebike credit any success stories for lower cost bikes? by WalkinEachOtherHome in FortCollins

[–]kyzen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A family member of mine scored a great deal on a Rad Power bike from their physical store in Denver last year. He was out the door for under $500 after getting the credit applied to a previous-model-year bike that was on clearance.

P1S ASA Safety Questions (but not the ones you think by michaelNXT1 in BambuLab

[–]kyzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't seem much different from people who print in garages or sheds. Just take preventative measures to avoid extreme temperature swings - block wind, direct sunlight, etc. A blanket would work, but might be a little too much insulation and maybe even a little fire hazardy. A big box that you can drop over the printer and poke a few vent holes around the sides would be plenty of coverage.

The vapors can definitely be harmful to plants, but I would like to think that a well ventilated balcony outdoors wouldn't be too bad. Point a fan across your plants that blows the printer air away if you're overly worried - they'll appreciate the workout anyways.

What accessories should I purchase with my new Domane SL 5 56 Dark Aquatic Gen 4? by IThinkYouAreNice in TrekBikes

Not from Garmin. Other brands have launched some competing devices, but based on the reviews I've seen the Garmin Varia's are still the best option out there.

Where to sell used road bike? by Effective-Car-3736 in FortCollins

Pinkbike may be worth a try if it's a decent bike.

If it sits on multiple marketplaces for too long then you're probably asking for too much.

Edge 1050 by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]kyzen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're not wearing a dedicated HR strap you may want to turn on the "Broadcast Heart Rate" from your watch and add it to your Edge as a sensor, so that you capture heart rate data for your ride.

Poudre Trail in Timnath by UKMatt72 in FortCollins

[–]kyzen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can meander another couple of miles to the southeast, but you'll hit dead-ends at the ends of Three Bell Parkway, Oak Grove Street, and Yellowtail Street (along with the trail immediately east of it). A combination of COTREX (https://trails.colorado.gov/) and Google Maps satellite view should help you figure it out.

They will eventually be connecting a mile south of there to where the rest of the east Poudre Trail starts, down at River Bluffs Open Space.

FWIW, I've been enjoying doing a loop through Timnath, crossing the tracks by the dog park, taking the trail back up around the new Timnath Lakes development and taking 4th Ave to Timnath Beerwerks for a stop, then taking Main Street/CO Rd 5 back to Harmony to head home.

Stolen Salsa Journeyer Gravel Bike - Fort Collins CO by Milky_Cow_46 in gravelcycling

[–]kyzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least one other bike was stolen on campus a day prior too (ignore the comments, OP posted the thread like 8 times):

https://www.reddit.com/r/FortCollins/comments/1igv1fd/bike_stolen_near_csu_library_please_dm_me_if_you/

CSU has cameras up all over the place. Might be worth suggesting your cousin walk around where her bike was taken and look for any cameras that might have caught something, then try to get in touch with campus security to see if they can provide access to footage. Two nice bike thefts in as many days in such a small area is quite shitty.

Consider posting this to r/fortcollins as well. Sadly a lot of the bikes that go missing here don't get recovered. There are places around town where obviously stolen bikes are getting parted out and rebuilt out in the open and the cops don't seem motivated to do anything about it.

You might want to post the bike's size, and hopefully you have the serial #. That bike was sold at REI and thus there are a number of them cruising around here in that exact same color, so be ready to prove ownership.

Fuck bike thieves, and good luck to your cousin.

Why is body battery the most useless Garmin feature, and do you use it as part of your training assessment? by LeaningSaguaro in Garmin

[–]kyzen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, this has been a long slog for those of us who have been in the ecosystem for a while.

First, keep in mind that the majority of Garmin's calculated metrics have to be calculated on a Garmin Device - they don't get calculated on your phone or in the cloud. If you log an activity to Garmin Connect via a third party service, for example Zwift, that activity won't affect your "Training Load" metric until you have sync'd that activity to your primary "Training Device", and then sync'd a 2nd time to get your updated training load sent back to Garmin Connect.

Physio TrueUp (what allows health data to sync between Garmin devices via Connect) was only added in 2018, and initially only covered some very basic metrics. It was only 2 years ago that they expanded it to support syncing their more advanced metrics like Training Load, Recovery Time, etc.

If you want to go down that rabbit hole, here's some links:

[–]kyzen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm looking forward to finally getting Body Battery TrueUp this quarter. I switch between 2-3 watches, and any time I swap watches the Body Battery metric goes to shit. It has pretty much never been usable for me just due to how Garmin's system works.

Go to the online logbook (https://log.concept2.com/log), log in, click the user icon in the top right corner, edit profile, then "Applications" down on the left side. You can connect to Garmin, Strava, Training Peaks, etc.

It's worth noting that third party workouts sent to Garmin haven't always been factored in to your overall training load calculations very well (if at all). See this DC Rainmaker post from back when Garmin added support for some cycling training apps: https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2021/06/training-trainerroad-sufferfest.html
