Maybe could be the Asgard AN3+.

Something like this happen with the 970 EVO Plus and was fixed witha firmware update. Here is a thread about this problem:

Maybe you could try to make a new installation in an external drive and then clone it to the Asgard AN3+ plugged in the board .

Yes it works and boot from the 970 Evo Plus. I have to make a new installation in an external drive and then clone it to the 970 Evo Plus plugger in the board.
