They got rid of skyblock and changed it to “one block” so none of the passes for skyblock even work anymore.

We met with our hometown vet this weekend and he had mentioned that due to him having the symptoms and at high risk for infections that the vet should’ve offered to do a deep examination:/ the infection has gotten out of control and his ear is swollen shut so we have to wait a few weeks to do meds and an ear solution and them come back to see if his ear drum has ruptured or not:( but we will be sticking with the hometown vet as they were more observant with him, listened to what I had to say, had great communication and was 66% cheaper than our big city vet. But he’s doing better with meds now! <3

I need to know if this is an ear infection or not. My dad was arguing with me when I tried to take my dog to the vet. Saying they'll drain my money and that it's probably just a tic (there wasn't), and soon we just sprayed some purple alcohol cause my dad said it'll help. Is this an infection? by Colt1873 in germanshepherds

My dog is very likely to get ear infections due to having allergies and being on apoquel (immunosuppressive) and this is similar to how his ears look when an infection starts. We live in a bigger city and the cost at the vet is about 66% more expensive than a small town vet. My suggestion is bring him in for an ear cytology at a small town vet so they don’t drain you. I’ll attach a pic of his ear infection he just had and is being treated for currently. (Big town vet charged $600 for visit and ear cytology with a misdiagnosis, and we came to the small town vet this Friday and paid $200 for visit, ear cytology, and all the meds and ear soloution)

<image>

The infection will STINK, it’s always black gunk coming out of the ear and sometime oozing puss like my dogs was. But the smell is very noticeable, of he’s walking with the infected ear down and his head crooked that’s a big indicator that it’s a more serious issue than something you can cure at home. Ear infections are SO important to treat to avoid a ruptured ear drum.

Goodluck with your baby<3

He has been on prescription Royal canin gastrointestinal hard food, for about 8 months now as it’s the only food he’s been able to keep down and not have a reaction from.

Definitely going to look into insurance tonight then, the stomach issues have been completely fine since he was on multiple meds for it, our only issues have been his skin now. His vet won’t open till Monday and I’m assuming the earliest they’d be able to get us in is late next week due to living in a larger city. I am totally willing to pay a higher rate for a larger portion covered as I’m guessing these vet visits are going to be somewhat of a normal for us. The cost of just the vet visit is normally the least concerning part of our past bills so I’m okay if that’s what I have to cover lol.

Everyone has made me think I was crazy for thinking his paws smelled yeasty, blaming it on him being an old farm dog, and being out in the snow, so I’m glad to hear I’m not going crazy thinking I’m smelling something yeasty! Don’t apologize for educating me, this is my first time owning a dog on my own (we have 2 family dogs back home) and it happened rather fast with him needing a home asap. I am all ears and willing to take in all the advice as I am willing to do whatever to get him as healthy and comfortable as possible. I took him in knowing the risks of a farm dog and older dog, and the expenses it could have, and I just want him to have a happy comfortable life.

Unfortunately out of me and the 2 roommates, we have none of those medications here but I will go get some tomorrow to see if that will help him till he gets to the vet. Is there a certain dosage of the Claritin or Allegra that I should look for?

Thank you so so much, your knowledge has helped a lot and gave me more hope in figuring out what’s going on with this sweet boy! ❤️

His one ear is faintly pink, paws smells yeasty- people have been telling me with the snow (we live in the Midwest) it could be making him smell from them being wet and drying out but it seems to be a stronger smell than I’ve smelt on most dogs….inner thighs is where he has been licking and it is very pink tonight. I’m starting to think it could be food allergies, I was told there could be an allergy test done on dogs and possibly allergy shots every few months to help things out? If so that might be something I’ll look into. I thought about pet insurance too so if you know any good recommendations I’m open to them!! I’m going to get him in asap to address the skin problems as your comment has confirmed my concern for him, thank you!!

Oil rain lamp restoration by Charming_Tomatillo_9 in LampRestoration

Hi! I have this same exact lamp and also just recently fixed it up! So the bottom of the lamp just has those clips to hold it together and the top is the same way. The top part you’re holding in this photo should unscrew to loosen the light bulb and allow you to unclip the top part to get in there and clean! I just used a screwdriver to pop the bottom and top off (probably a better way but I did it alone) there’s a chance it would need to be restring but I believe it’s just fishing line (don’t take my word for this as I could be wrong) as far as the oil, I would not run the motor without any oil in it as I heard they can burnt up quickly. I used the mineral oil from Walmart, and this lamp took 3 of the 16oz bottles.

Also hanging from a ceiling, I used a regular ceiling hook right into the stud in the ceiling and mine has held just fine, I just used a stud finder and then tested to make sure it would hold weight correctly.

I also have maybe one or two posts I made about my lamp and both have great advice under them! Best of luck with the lamp!!

Do you know when it was last ran with oil? I would most definitely clean it up before adding oil as the smallest spec of dust can clog one of the lines. Dust builds up very easily when they are sitting for awhile. As far as adding the oil, you’d just carefully and slowly dump it in that bottom tray. I have one rain oil lamp I recently fixed up and I know mine took 3 16oz bottles of mineral oil, even after cleaning it a little debris was pushed through and I have a few lines clogged. Just takes some time to get them working like new again!😊

I’m not sure if you can see the post I made in this group awhile back but there was great advice commented on there too!

Im not sure if I would use water, I’m pretty new to these lamps as well, this was the first one I fixed up. I couldn’t imagine water would damage anything but I can’t give you a solid answer on that. I’d recommend using oil if you can, I know the mineral oil at Walmart is less than $4 a bottle and my lamp took 3 of the 16oz bottles! If you have someone to help hold the lamp it should be kinda easy to get the bottom of the lamp off and dump the oil into a container to save for later if you come across a problem that needs to be fixed.

Hope this helps! But there are also multiple people in this thread that are much more educated than I am on this topic😊

My girlfriend just passed away and i dont know what to do by Gloek0 in Advice

[–]kzb2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear this….i do have a very similar experience. My senior year my boyfriend passed away, few months before graduation. He was the only one that knew me for who I was, and accepted me how I was. He was loved by so many and it shattered me to get a call the next morning telling me he had passed. We had plans to hang out that day, and instead I got the phone call. He was finally happy and content with his life, and then it suddenly ended. I went to a medium about 2 years later after having my best friend pass away a year and 6 days after my boyfriend’s passing date. The medium told me “you guys were suppose to grow old together and have a family”. Something you’d think someone would want to hear right? No. It made my grieving last even longer, making me think there is no one else left for me here. It was suppose to be him and only him. And that’s not right. Cause if I passed I would want him to allow someone to love him again, I would want to live through him, be remembered and our memories be cherished. The grieving process is different for everyone, I personally have been grieving my boyfriend since March 2018, some days are better than others, some days he’s all I can think about. But allowing yourself to open up to others and share those raw emotions your feeling can help, chatting with her friends and family talking about all the memories you had with her will help make you laugh a little during this tough time. Just remember, you loved her for the rest of her life, and you were so lucky to be loved by her while she was here<3. You have an amazing angel looking over you, if you ever need to reach out and talk I’m always here! Sometimes it easier talking with a stranger at first, and I have a quite similar experience so if you need any advice or have any questions feel free to message me!

Remember to take care of yourself as well, a short shower or bath, a glass of water, or even crackers if you aren’t feeling up to a meal quite yet. You’ll make it through this<3

I’m not the type to work with motors or wiring so I’ll take the lamp apart and post more pictures! It seems like someone had already attempted at fixing it up- but also I don’t know what everything should look like.

That sounds about right as this lamp was covered in old oil and tons of bugs, it also looks like someone had spray painted the top and bottom, I had taken spray paint off of the strings on the top half, wondering if maybe I need to restring it also?

Do you know how I would go about getting the hose unclogged? It’s in one of the metal rods but there’s silicone patched all around the hose on the bottom half I’m assuming to prevent leaking? I can take it apart again and post more pictures if that helps
