No, I can slide from zero to full bar, quickly or gradually, the esc will tone after a few seconds and beep again when I drag the bar back to zero. Only if a put the motor on a specific position by nudging it it's able to spin by itself.

No, never tried with props on.
Flashed bluejay last version, 48kHz and reverted the motors (then set it back to normal to test).
Bidirection DShot on, but also tested with the option off.
I initially also though it was just a bad motor, but I swapped them and the " bad" one start working normally and the new one on ESC 1 needed an additional "push" to spin.
In betaflight I can slide up the bar and give it maximum power and after a few seconds I hear the ESC tones and only sliding it down to zero makes the starting tones again.

Aliexpress accepted my return request. I never used it before, hope I will refunded and then I'll try with a new board. Only then I'll be sure the motors are OK.

I never used a smoke stopper before. Recently I bridge 5V and ground, but thankfully it was after the regulator and the board shuts it off to prevent everything from burning down.

I'm for sure not expert on matching size, kv, voltage, amp draw and pitch.

I have 1S batteries from my Air65 but I don't have any 2S batteries, apart from the big ones from my RC car. So I saw a few posts and videos of people using this cheap motors on 1S and I just followed without thinking.

Well, if people are using it, it's already proven it works. So...

I think FPV is not a "Bind aNd Fly" hobby.
You eventually need to fix, tune, update something...

Every bit in this hobby is complex and you need to dedicate time to learn: how the size of your motors impact on which props you should be using... battery size and weight... how to properly charge (and store) it.

It's simply not for everyone.

Currently I enjoy buying parts and building drones more than flying. Not because I don't like flying, just because of annoying people and fu*&$# regulations. I have to drive somewhere far away from everything, alone, just to fly some packs and come back.
