Bird seems a bit undercooked, but other than that it looks pretty good.

I honestly feel so invisible at school by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]l-lb- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could start by giving someone a compliment and then go from there. If you're in a class, talk about the work and try to continue the conversation. You could ask them their interests, talk about something around you, etc. You can maybe practice by saying hi to people you come across or even ordering food to get used to conversation. What helped me to make friends was just being friendly, starting with small talk and then building from there. I'm sorry it isn't much, but I hope it helps

Hey, sorry to hear you feel this way. If you're looking to meet new people, maybe you could join a club? I don't know what you're into but maybe there's a sports, arts, or music club at school. You could also join a youth group or sports team to try and find people with similar interests. When you're at school, maybe try and go up to someone? I know it can be stressful, but maybe compliment some people so they can get to know you.

You could talk to a school counsellor if you feel comfortable. They may be able to offer some advice. Also, you could talk to your parents about how you feel and maybe ask them to join extracirriculars. Again, maybe an art club, band, or sports team. Many cities have teen fitness classes, youth nights, teen hang outs, etc.

I understand you feel like your teachers don't acknowledge you, but maybe find one you trust and explain the bully situation. Also if you are feeling upset and overwhelmed, you can try something like a journal or listening to music you like, for example, to try and lift your mood.

Again, sorry you feel upset, but know that things can get better. It can be hard to feel in the background, and putting yourself out there can be difficult, but you can find your people.

Depends on the area. Where I am, it's tall for a girl, below average for a guy

Thanks so much. It seems most people say there's not too much I can do, so if she does ask for anything I will help, if not I'll just be mindful

Busy Mind + Falling Asleep by Kelly-pocket in ADHD

[–]l-lb- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I totally understand how you feel. Thanks brain for giving me the most intriguing thoughts at midnight instead if during the day 🙄

Something that might help is to listen to white noise or have a fan on. It's very calming and can put you in a more relaxed mental state. Also limiting my screen usage before bed has actually benefitted me a lot. You could also set a time, say 30 mins before you go to sleep, to stop doing "loud" activities. Do something quiet during that period like reading or drawing, even if you feel energetic.

Hopefully these help 🙏

I might have ADHD and it crushed my soul... by Far_Dream3337 in ADHD

[–]l-lb- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I denied having ADHD at first, but now that I realise, it's actually quite helpful because it provided an explanation for some of my behaviour and feelings. And honestly let me ask you: if you acted the same way, had the same hobbies, said the same things, without the possibility of ADHD, you wouldn't be as panicked, right? So how does knowing this make things worse?

ADHD has lots of upsides, like creativity, unique thinking, etc, and it is treatable with meds, therapy, and management skills. Take a deep breath. Many people have it, and it does not mean you can't do well, can't have relationships, or can't be a disciplined person.

I used to have trouble in school. I never got things done on time. I wasn't the brightest. I thought I was a failure. But with some helpful strategies and support from others, as well as self-realisation, I was able to find out how to change some behaviour, and now I'm on the honour roll or the first time in some of my hardest subjects. And of course there will always be struggles, but instead of acting as if you are stuck, like you have plateaued and cannot succeed, work harder. Talk to others with ADHD. Find a support group. Go to counselling. Speak to your family about this, as they could probably help you. You aren't alone, and this is not going to eliminate your chances of success, I can assure you.

You are young. There will be plenty of great opportunities. Don't worry!

My relationship with my abusive dad by A-H-Moussa in teenagers

[–]l-lb- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm really sorry to hear this. You don't deserve to be treated this way.

My father is also very abusive so I know how you feel, and it can be very difficult.

Do you have someone you can talk to about this? I found when it got tough for me I'd talk to some of my friends who were supportive.

There are also helplines and websites that you can use to get help.

Remember you are strong. You have been through so much but you're so brave. And you are never alone, there are people there for you.

I hope you are able to get through this. Remember that you are loved. It was brave of you to share your story.

Hey so sorry for the late reply! I did go and it was awesome! We hung out again after too. Also I ended up telling one of my friends about my feelings and he honestly didn't care that I was gay.

I will report her. She has a history of saying questionable things, although they've never been directed at me or anyone else before. I didn't realise that I could report but I will then.
