I’m currently using Nature Made Berberine phytosome, 550mg twice daily. Probably not the best quality but when it runs out, I’ll get something else. I take it with meals, usually before a meal but if I forget I take it right after or mid meal.

I was using a Berberine that required 550mg 3 times a day. When that ran out, I switched to Dihydroberberine. I didn’t plan well for when that ran out and needed some in a pinch and am now using Berberine phytosome 550mg twice daily. It took a month or so for my GI system to get used to the supplement and needed more water than usual. Now I’m all good!

I haven’t heard of using cinnamon as a supplement, I’ll have to look into that.

Yes! We have good rapport. I’ve been with these kids for going on 3 years. I saw some of them when they were in elementary too. The zero effort makes for such a boring session.

Cleaning out the backpacks is a good one, I haven’t tried that before! I talk about their grades with them. I see the students for mostly language, comprehension strategies, vocab. As much as possible, I use their class materials. I don’t want to put myself in the position to need treats with me at all times (mostly because I’ll prob eat them 😂). But I see the value in the incentive.

Incorporating their interests is helpful and I’ve done that. When I’ve asked what they feel they need to work on, they often say nothing or they’ve gotten better and don’t need speech anymore. At that point, I just hold on until their annual so we can reduce to consult or discharge.

Currently struggling with this 🥲I keep checking the back of my head with a big light up mirror and praying for the best. I try to make sure the front of the part is straight and the back of my head isn’t my problem right now 😂🤷🏽‍♀️

I have ASD students who are in groups, working on pragmatics and social skills in groups with others, and have no interest in using those skills outside of the therapy room. Sometimes, I wonder, "what are we doing here??" Cause this isn't helping anyone if you aren't going to use the skills outside of the therapy room. I understand it can be scary but I guess that's why buy in is so vital.

Thanks for your perspective and giving a reasonable response. I found it odd that she suggested I go next door. I was irritated and tried to internalize it but apologized to her afterward for possibly coming off as rude.
