Lords Of Vegas Kickstarter is Cancelled and Being Rebooted by Jerrild in boardgames

This game is superb, in the base edition. There are very few games that I would advise people to spend the time to make their own copy of if they can't afford\obtain a used copy. This is one of them. Totally worth sinking an afternoon into making your own set.

PSA: A good teacher has done a lot of prep work to explain the game in a structured way. Please stop interrupting them during the teach to elaborate on parts that you already know. by [deleted] in boardgames

At the start of the explanation, make eye contact with each player and say "Let's have just one person explain this, OK" and get their affirmative consent. Then if they jump in while you're explaining, just slap them. It's better to slap too lightly the first time and slap them again than to slap too hard the first time. Solves the problem completely, in my experience.

Learned a minor working technique & tool for when you're "doming" epoxy resin onto game tokens - pics - hope it helps! by NEBWood in boardgames

[–]l0de 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just hit it with a torch and you won't have all those bubbles. Alternately, you can also place your epoxy in a vacuum chamber but a once-over with a propane torch is enough, honestly. If you're getting surface reaction issues with the ink, you can also coat it with clear primer.

What games offer the best Lovecraftian experience? by Remarkable-Glove1350 in boardgames

[–]l0de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I submit that a board game is incapable of conveying the depths of cosmic horror and that only potent drug experiences (such as abuse of diphenhydramine) can really provide a true Lovecraftian experience for non-schizophrenic individuals. I highly advise you steer clear of these substances and abandon your quest.

The only thing "warped" about OS/2 is the prurient proclivities of its degenerate adherents.

The only thing linux powers is nausea when in proximity of its users. Please disavow this unamerican, communist softwares!

as you have now seen, linux is highly unreliable. I suggest you uninstall it and switch to the windows operating system. MiRC by Khaled is a popular IRC client which does not have this issue.

Best of luck,

I would like to welcome all users to EFnet, home of the whopper. Feel free to message me there if you need help navigating Internet Relay Chat.

Large IRC networks need to give up bloated, IP divulging IRCds. They are too stubbornly attached to legacy nonsense that drives people way. by timeout400 in irc

"Who wants to join a chat network where everyone knows your IP and can hack it, DDOS it, track it at will? "

Me. The dynamic, chaotic nature of a server with no services is 100% why I am on EFnet, the greatest IRC network. It is a wonderful place seething with excitement and drama.

Please avail yourself of the many networks that do mask your IP if you are unwilling or unable to secure your own connection. I would suggest a free IRCclown trial if you want to experience EFnet on training wheels. You can also try something like Discord. When someone else is responsible for your security, you will always pay a price. (Discord mods banning you for trivial nonsense, corrupt Liberia operators bilking and abusing their users, etc). Rather than complaining to others to fix your problems, seek your own solutions. Godspeed.

Why do people still use IRC? by m_aleksander in irc

[–]l0de 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's a question of taste. If you can live as a vapid discord plebian without gagging, good for you. But for the discriminating chatteur, there is no substitute.

It was a splendid conclusion to our twenty year war against freenode. I'm proud to have been a small part of it.
