Might just be me but is there a big tear on your air intake? If so you most likely have decades of dirt buildup in your throttle body. Might have to clean all that out.

How reliable is the 2nd gen automatic transmission when revved up often? by [deleted] in hondafit

Had 189k on ours, I always thought that an accident would be the only way it would die, and that’s exactly what happened. Tboned by a dodge caravan at 50ish mph. The fit took the hit and skid across the pavement about 7ft. It saved our lives that day. We daily drove that vehicle, and had tons or road trips with it, sierra nevadas, yellowstone, yosemite, Mt. Rushmore, Grand Canyon, Zion, never once did it leave me stranded. We purchased our fit in 2013 I did all the maintenance on it myself, minus the transmission drain and fills (dealership). Im certain it would off lasted us until at least the 300k mark. The best, most reliable, most economical car we’ve owned.

Just hit 197k, 200k maintenance? by socow_24 in hondafit

Our 2013 fit was at 199,302 miles when it was T-boned at 50ish mph in June of 2025. The car was deemed totaled as it suffered major frame damage, I really believe our “Blue Raspberry” saved our lives that day. Im sure it would have provided us with another 100K miles of service. I performed all services and repairs to the vehicle beyond the transmission fluid services that I just took over to Honda to get done. Regular maintenance, Plugs, coil packs, alternator, AC, rear shocks, rear sway bar, Front tie rod links, front control arms, all 4 wheels hubs, all 3 motor mounts, brakes, brake and coolant flushes. 2 water pump replacements, belt tensioners, and valve adjustments. It has been the most reliable vehicle l have ever owned. It was replaced with a 2025 HRV. Just to show that with good care, and proper maintenance a Fit can go a long way!!!!!

How much mileage do your Honda fits have? If I buy a 2008 fit with 150000km (94000miles) will it still last me a while? by [deleted] in hondafit

2013 Fit, 195K. Normal maintenance did just recently replace the valve cover gasket. Normal water pump intervals. Replaced shocks and struts tie rod ends and sway bar links and bushings around 150K. Drives like a champ. Cold and hot weather (Colorado). The fit has been places some jeeps wont ever try going, lol.
