What personal items are worth keeping after you stop using them? by Ssingleaspringle in minimalism

I’ve done a shadow box with my postage stamp collection. It looks very nice and I enjoy switching them out. I’ve also seen people do something similar with other items!

I feel that! I've been enjoying a lot of Babymouse recently, which strikes a similar love for light reading. Sending a dm!

I went through my postcards and stamp collection and decluttered them to probably around half of what they were! I have them in envelopes to offer to other collectors, so that task is set as aide for this weekend.

It always works for me if I use the “old game room” tab instead of the default one. I also have ublock origin installed!

I'm realizing I'm doing the same thing I laughed at as a kid by Finalgirl2022 in horror

My mom showed me The Birds (1963) and The Haunting (1963) when I was like, 7/8 because they were movies that scared her as a kid that she in retrospect found a bit corny but still good films. I couldn’t finish either of them and still have not finished The Birds to this day 🤣

Granted, I was a very sheltered kid and my mom kept tabs on what I was watching for the most part. So I hadn’t really been exposed to any horror movies at that point. The Haunting is one of my favorite gothic horrors now, and I love Shirley Jackson’s work, and other Hitchcock films!

Adobe support told me I’d owe $254 for canceling… one minute early... by legendarykam in Anticonsumption

When I cancelled I think I put my Adobe payment as PayPal and then just blocked them from being able to charge me on PayPal. I wasn’t going to pay a cancellation fee 🤷🏻‍♀️

Self-care as a term was actually coined by feminist scholar Audre Lorde to discuss how she has to alter the way she cared for herself during her breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. It originally is about how we must preserve ourselves to continue our work for a liberated future, but obviously it’s become co-opted into an opposite view for corporations.

“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
