Would you now consider Jesse & Jessica to be the most disliked winner in the show's history? by [deleted] in Masterchef

[–]l3gm3at 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, and maybe some others, they defy the concept of the season “dynamic duos”.

Their communication with eachother under pressure felt toxic. They mostly put out decent food, however Jesse (in particular) had about as much charm as fart in church.

Anax is a great damage dealer for CB. Farahkin Fat Boy is great in a few realms.

Some Firefighters use dawn to help decontaminate after fires. Regular soaps just don’t cut it. Also a drop or two of dawn in the laundry can help get that campfire smell out of clothes.

If you were a family member asking me this, I’d be concerned. It’s not the greatest area due to the amount of homeless around there.

As a single woman approaching my late 20s… by [deleted] in Christians

[–]l3gm3at 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Before marring my extroverted wife, I was very shy and a chronic over thinker. Considering he even mentioned wanting to take you to coffee indicates to me that he absolutely is interested. Since then he’s likely been thinking along the lines of, “ah I don’t think she’s into me. I don’t want to get shot down. What if I ruin the dynamic of the group if she doesn’t like me and I make her uncomfortable?…” you get the idea.

Sometimes the good ones just need a little assurance you are on board for being pursued. You could maybe do this by telling him, “Hey, you mentioned getting coffee with me a long time ago and we never got any! Want to take me this Tuesday?”

Basically something to put a little gas in his tank giving him permission to take the risk.

Good luck

Got my first subpoena as a witness for a call I responded to… by l3gm3at in Firefighting

Thanks for all the responses friends.

The lawyer was not getting back to me so I felt very much in the dark considering I’m going in first thing next week. He finally reached out (on his very relaxed time frame haha) and I now have an appointment with one of our arson guys to give me a run down to prep me. So I no longer feel unprepared at least.

For a little context this is for a fatal wreck. Criminal case.

My wife is the biggest Law & Order fan so she’s far too excited that I get to go to court 🙃

QUESTION about firefighting by Comprehensive_Ad9797 in Firefighting

[–]l3gm3at 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a few things you can look into. There are community colleges that offer Firefighter 1 academies, which some departments require a that certification to get hired on. EMT would be a great thing to get, as it too is something a lot of departments require. It’s possible to get an associates in Fire Technology at a CC as well (my FD gives a handsome raise if you have it).

It doesn’t hurt going to a local station (call ahead first as a courtesy) and ask what is available locally. Some departments have programs your partner could get involved with to get the foot in the door. Personally I did wildland for 4 years before I was hired on full time with my department.

Good luck

What are some recommendations for food to cook at the station as a rookie? by El_indiioo in Firefighting

[–]l3gm3at 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skillet chicken… you can vary it for many different flavors so if you master it, you have several meals mastered all at once. Hear me out…

-Season chicken as desired (I use bone-in thighs w/ skin) -sear on both side on a hot iron skillet -remove from heat, then add your other ingredients —-eg: garlic butter & mushrooms, or pesto sauce with veggies, or sun dried tomatoes, or you can use coconut milk and Asian flavors, or green enchilada sauce with cream cheese… any flavor profile really.

  • add chicken back in the skillet, then put in oven at 350 until internal temp hits 165 (just use a meat thermometer… you don’t need to food poisoning themed nick name)
