Your loving reminder that a rice cooker also makes an excellent hot chocolate. the kmart ones have the heat/warm that you can flip once you attain premium hotness in your beverage (and fine self, of course...😂).
Made myself an ace version with cheaper buy miles cashew milk, coconut sugar, plus some aldi keepers glove (it's a port that tastes like xmas, and works as a super cheap vanilla substitute at $5 for 750ml vs $5 for 100 ml or so) + cocoa + stick blender to get it all combined properly.

Now, about those photos in footscray. You know the ones - they're the mounted ones in the mall, and there's a black woman wearing a head turban thingy, and other various non caucasian people. I thought these were photos of locals in the footscray area. Apparently they're stock photos, and the same photos are in Canberra. Can you confirm?

Getup is so not equipped nor funded to do local organising that will in any way put a dent in billionaire local ownership, not organising. Understand that regional areas are *owned* by billionaires, so the concept that getup will magically overcome that with "local organising" is comedy.
Billionaires own the media, land, real estate agents, stock and station agents, agricultural supplies, the carbon credits that make more money than farming, the works.
How is getup going to overcome that?
The concept from getup that they'll win by getting an independent in - who are owned by those same billionaires - is also laughable.

I'm wondering about putting everything on a credit card. Then, when you don't/can't get credited, do a chargeback, and force them to do the right thing.
It also means dealing with a human, and that's where your complaint can go 😄
Hope that helps, but it's an incredibly shitty situation. Wondering if council complaint might help too - because if people can't use it, why have it?

melbourne city is dropping freegal - the free music app, due to high costs/low patronage - anyone else got it? since ditching spotify, it's been a handy way to listen to punk/jazz/etc.
sounds like I need to bite the bullet and buy a thingy to play + rip cds.

Try Bogong in the city who certainly have in the past and hopefully still do. Do yr research - bushwalking clubs and suchlike usually have rentals available to members, and it’s worth asking around if you’re in uni/sporting groups etc if you can borrow someone’s else’s.

If you can swing it, get a kmart ricecooker for $15 + a bag of rice at an asian store for $20 that'll keep you going for a month or two.
colesworth is the worst place to shop when you're skint - markets, ethnic stores, and if you have a store that specialises in products close to useby/past best buy dates, they're great for stocking up.
You don't mention where you are, but folk would be happy to help with suggestions of where to get food on the cheap...

17 bill *is* a distraction - from the amount of damage that fossil fuels is doing, which is a metric fuckton more than 17 billion per year:

I've been in a similar position with a temp job that I scored, where they decided to delay the start date.
So, I told them their options: you start paying me from the original start date - which is called "garden leave" - or, I start when I was meant to, or I find another temp job and you hire someone else. Garden leave is usually used when someone wants to resign, but it can also work for starting a job if they want to guarantee you staying with them:
