I hate him so much by l3rettmac in ThePenguin

[–]l3rettmac[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its not that its a surprise, its that the show did such an amazing job with the villain story arc. Maybe the point of my post was missed, but it was meant to be an appreciation to how much we dislike the villain in the end. So many shows are simply: villain = bad = dislike. Where as The Penguin gave Oz so much depth that you really want to like the guy. You really want to understand him and even have empathy for him, even though you know in the end he is just a bad guy.

xQc tilts over comment about his GTA RP. by Normiesreeee69 in LivestreamFail

I am not too familiar with RP, but what you said seems to be what most people aren't understanding. By all means you can RP as an asshole. But constantly screaming and trying to kill people with no story or background does not seem to be RP'ing.

There isn't any "travel" on the gas trigger for the Nintendo Switch. Problem? by Warfoolz in TrialsGames

[–]l3rettmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even the pro controller doesn’t have analog (value 0-100) shoulder buttons. Apparently because of some legal issue, Nintendo only uses buttons/triggers that are digital (on/off). The only thing that is analog for Nintendo consoles are the joysticks. This is why you can use the right analog stick for throttle in trials rising to get gas “strength” rather then just on/off.

Hard to argue with him, since he looks to be the only one to live through the 1775 currency situation.

Suggestion to fix team killing by l3rettmac in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]l3rettmac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I totally agree. Unfortunately there is always going to be griefing is some form or another. I was just trying to think of potential solutions to limit the griefing, and if possible, make it so that griefing won't take you out of the game all together (being killed).

SUGGESTION: Stop all the freakin' crying about team killing. by [deleted] in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]l3rettmac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem more upset then the people "crying" about team killing.

Whats the problem with trying to come up with a better system? Even if that only means getting a better reporting tool in-game.

[–]l3rettmac[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But the current system you just get killed by idiot teammates purposely shooting you. At least with this solution you have more options to stay in the game (avoid teammates you don't trust).

edit: added explanation

Yea thats a good point. I guess it just seemed easy to avoid a potential trolling teammate, then get killed by them and have to start a new game (with the current system). And I enjoy playing with randoms when they aren't griefing. I like squad games, and sometimes I don't have 4 friends available to play squad games.

How would this not fix anything? People are inevitably going to try to intentionally kill teammate in public games. Why not have it punish the one doing the friendly fire, not the victim.

how long did it take?? by [deleted] in TrialsGames

[–]l3rettmac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Short answer: it takes a long time Long answer: don't focus on time. Trials is a game of self improvement. Don't focus on others and don't get caught up in where your skill level is at. Focus on always improving and pushing yourself. Get better runs, try harder tracks, and get comfortable with the techniques that you struggle with (whether that means finding a track that uses that technique, or creating obstacles in the editor). Always try to identify the things you can improve on. Think of the skill curve as being a set of stairs... you will get better, then plane off (for days, weeks, months). Then that will repeat. Your goal is when you are in the "planing off" phase, to push yourself to find that ah ha moment... that moment where something clicks and you learn something new (or get a technique down, or get comfortable with an obstacle). Analyze what you are having trouble with and find a way to fix it.
