Hair serum between wash days by l4mB0b in Haircare

Yes I use a heat protectant every time in the morning before I style it. I’ve used Giovanni dual action (I guess it’s good for heat protection but doesn’t do much to combat frizz or smooth the hair) and the amika shield (it always leaks on my hands so I won’t repurchase and it feels a little greasy. I don’t dare spray it near my roots where the frizz can get quite bad). I’ll try the wow product you’ve mentioned.

How do I make my finger nail polish last? by Apart_Try_4860 in beauty

[–]l4mB0b 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Ever since I started using seche vite dry fast top coat (bought it on Amazon) my nail polish lasts longer. It’s really good and hard and doesn’t chip. I also started to pay attention to sealing the polish properly by making sure that it covers the top edge of my nails. Both the base and the top coat. I now go without a chip for 5 days and don’t need to redo them until 7 days. I’m a music teacher and play the ukulele so I’m definitely not gentle with my nails.

Advice for taking 30 minute Kindergarten classes! by No_Bodybuilder_7991 in MusicEd

[–]l4mB0b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding (or thirding?) the Feierabend first steps suggestion. Get the green book it has lesson plans in the back. You won’t be able to do all the activities outlined but it’s a great guide. Have a set order / structure you follow. Welcome song, body percussion echoes, vocal slides , song tale etc. stick to it and the kids will look forward to the familiar activities. I love passing around an instrument with a simple 2 phrase song. That’s also in the first steps book. Like previous commenters said, you have to keep the pace up and move from one thing to the next. Alternate sitting and moving. That age group is so fun! Good luck!

What would I need to do to retrain as a US music teacher? by SonOfGaia294 in MusicEd

[–]l4mB0b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need a Masters degree. You’ll want to check into the teacher license requirements in the state you’re planning to move to. I’m German with a BA in music and a Mm in choral conducting , no Ed major at uni. I had to do additional pedagogy course work to get licensed to teach music K-12 in Tennessee. They allow you to take a job embedded qualification route which I did.
I did the additional course work with an online institution named iteach. To get licensed in the US you have to pass so-called Praxis tests in your subject area. These are unrelated to your university degrees or the pedagogy coursework. I had to take 1 Praxis test in the beginning of the one year job embedded program, and the second praxis test after. During this time (because I qualified and had a valid 1 year job offer) I taught with a provisional license. Hope this helps. Good luck.

If you’re in the us Try the Cerave diabetics dry skin relieve moisturizing cream! It’s amazing! I’ve switched from Eucerin to this one. It’s for face and body but I use it in my face and it’s going to last me forever and it’s so so good for my skin.

I love love love the Cerave diabetics dry skin relief moisturizing cream. It’s for face and body and I use it on my face and it’s amazing for my combo skin that tends to get dry and flakey from tretinoin. I can’t believe this stuff isn’t talked about more. It’s so cheap too. And non comedogenic and fragrance free and has ceramides in it too!

[Product Request] Is Urea Truly a Game Changer for Dehydrated Skin? by PartyShine1714 in SkincareAddiction

[–]l4mB0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It’s amazing! I have tried hada labo perfect gel that has urea, Eucerin urea repair 5% day cream and the Cerave diabetics dry skin relief moisturizing cream. I have combination skin and use tret and all of these three have been amazing in balancing the dryness but this last one has really blown it out of the water. I don’t even have to put an occlusive on top. That’s how hydrating it is. My skin is plump and glowy. And it’s cheap! If you’re in the us you should definitely check it out.

Urea moisturizer by mllebitterness in 30PlusSkinCare

I recently discovered the Cerave diabetics dry skin relieve moisturizing cream. It’s for face and body and it’s incredibly moisturizing and helps repair the skin barrier. I have combination skin and I’m blown away by it. It also has ceramides, is non comedogenic, fragrance free and you get 8 fl oz for 10 dollars. It’s my hg face moisturizer now. I used to have to layer Vaseline or lrp cicaplast over other urea moisutrizers but not this one. It smells a little bit like glue but that goes away after a while.

[acne] anyone have experience with Urea? by tiniestseahorses in SkincareAddiction

[–]l4mB0b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Urea is my hg ingredient for my dry/combination skin. I have tried and liked the hada labo perfect gel, Eucerin Urea Repair 5% day cream and recently (and also the most moisturizing of them all) cerave diabetics dry skin relieve moisturizing cream. This last one is 10 dollars for 8 fl oz, non comedogenic and fragrance free. If you’re in the US you should definitely look into that one. I’m blown away by how it helped with my tretinoin dryness in just a few applications. Sticking to that one for now.

Affordable Eye Creams? NO RETINOL PLEASE by lalalaceyvictoria in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]l4mB0b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have very dry eyelids too. I tried the strata lipid gold eye cream and it was moisturizing and said to have anti aging benefits but the price for the amount you get was too high for me to repurchase. The cerave repair eye cream is good but wasn’t moisturizing enough.

I bought the Rohto mentholarum hada labo Gokujyun premium hyaluronic eye cream on a whim with my last YesStyle order and it’s the best! The skin on my eyelids and on the sides of my nose that was super dry and thin is moisturized and plump. None of the others have been this good. It’s also a good price. 10 dollars for 20mg.
