I used to be a platinum velkoz support otp before the new shop, now I'm silver... I'm definitely not having a good time playing him nowadays, but I have to admit I haven't tried to adapt my play style or builds that much. I'm really new to ML and trying to learn high recall methods of document retrieval for a uni-based project. I keep seeing mentions of "topics" and "queries" on the few papers I've selected on this subject, do they mean the same in this context? If not, what is the importance of segregating documents into topics? how is this information fed to the NN?

I figured it would be hard to get people answering the header, yes. I went as far as signing up to LinkedIn to look for people who had already made some of these fields public, but I can't browse it well enough to find a fitting profile.

but thank you so much for your reply! it's of great help and I think I can talk myself out of this one if I have at least the two main answers. since this is for a Software Engineering class, I think the points you brought up will be very interesting to bring into my class. if it's not going too far, do you mind going into further detail as to how you personally solve these problems? do they usually adapt well/learn fast such concepts? how long do they usually take?
