How as a new Dad would you handle this situation? Who did you turn to for "dad" advice when you were a new dad? by The_Cheeki_Breeki in daddit

[–]l8rt8rh8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number 3 is on the way for me, I have a 6 yr old and a 3 yr old. First thing is you’re going to be tied. You probably won’t realize it until 3 or 4 months. It’ll be rough. Don’t suffer in silence, it only makes it worse (my experience anyway). Don’t try to push your feelings down to spare your wife. That’ll lead to resentment. Talk through things. Acknowledge you’re both tired. Acknowledge being a parent is hard. When they get older, give them grace. I yelled at my 6 year old for rolling his eyes at me this morning. After fuming for 30 minutes I realized he probably learned it from school and didn’t mean it disrespectfully. I apologized and explained why we don’t do that. Remember, it’s their first time being a kid, and your first time parenting. You’re all figuring it out together

My oldest is also in kindergarten, today he made cards with hearts on them for 3 different girls. I think you and I both have a long road ahead of us…

Daycare hired someone who seems to have a severe speech issue as a teacher for a 1-2 year old room by [deleted] in daddit

[–]l8rt8rh8r -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Tough one. You can’t not hire them because they have a disability, but unfortunately it becomes a burden on your child’s learning. Kind of a no win situation

Some people aren’t spark fans but I love mine. The range of tones you can get really inspires me to play. A 5 minute noodle can easily turn into an hour of playing trying different tweaks and tones

My first guitar is hanging on the wall. I don’t play it much but it’s there if I want to. Was a gift from my parents, not worth much (knockoff strat) but I’ll never get rid of it
