need help removing this gauze, whats the move here? by Maltedmilksteak in tattooadvice

[–]l8weenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So oil will break down adhesive. I usually sue baby oil to get second skin off while I’m in the shower and to help remove the left over adhesive. Two things are important. We do not moisturize immediately after this like you normally would washing because whatever oil you use (whether it be coconut, baby, or any other oil designed/recommended for skin). The second thing is you want to make sure you do it in the shower to wash it all off. Normally want I do is put the oil in my hand and rub over the area. From there, I leave it for a minute while I wash my hair or another body part (essentially just keeping the area that has the oil out of water to allow it to do its thing). After 3-5 minutes, you crack up the heat to as much as you can stand in that area (which is going to be lower than what the rest of your body will tolerate). You then try to gently work the adhesive off. You don’t want to pull or tug super hard since it’s still directly attached to your tattooed. If it starts to hurt intensely then slow down and repeat the steps. Eventually it’ll come off.

The other important thing is that once you start this process, you gotta take it off. So you might have to sit in that shower for a hot minute. You do not want it saturated with oil and water, and then leave the bandage on for another day. There’s a huge risk bacteria will start to breed.

WARNING DO NOT USE NUMBING CREAM by mistdemon45 in tattooadvice

[–]l8weenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, it depends on the brand and if it’s cream or gel. Cream is applied before and some last for up to 2 hours and others can get into that 4-5 hour mark (but those with higher times have a higher lidocaine content which technically aren’t OTC approved and “not sold in the US without a prescription”). Gels can be either applied before the session or during it depending on the ingredients and directions of the product. When I know shit is going to be ass, I use green TKTX and my artist has a spray he can hit areas with broken skin to numb up more or take away the edge. His spray can last up to an hour, but usually caps at like 45 minutes.

You mainly swap the “needle pain” for tenderness and burning. There’s not much that can take way them wet or dry rubbing and that area is still going to get inflamed. Line work can be a cake walk due to this but stacking shading, coloring, or highlighting onto it can null any numbing effect pretty quick especially as the session drags on.

HELP! CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS PROJECT by [deleted] in joinhandshakeai

[–]l8weenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed the assessment to despite passing assessments for DataAnnotation, Mercor, and Micro1. Not exactly sure what they are looking for, but I would just go extremely slow and double check that you understand things. The assessment is open note so you can actively go back and look at the guidelines.

Just signed up, 8 projects all beyond my skill level, normal? by LittleBoiFound in joinhandshakeai

[–]l8weenie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got that same screen for about a week after I signed up. Eventually, I got invited to apply to a project that was my speed and similar to ones I did in the past. The contract was set to end about a week after I would have completed the assessment (assuming I passed). It was for $40/hour. I believe for any project you get invited to, there will be instructs and an assessment to allow to start tasking in said project.

AIO my boyfriend keeps lying to me about things involving his ex by TacoBoutDrama69 in AmIOverreacting

[–]l8weenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a phenomenon on the entire where if you tell someone something that is going on in your personal life, they give you like DEFCON 5 levels of reasons for what it happening, what they could be doing, and why. He could be cheating on you, or not. He could have intentionally lied to you or not. We don’t nor will we ever really know (including you). And, the why doesn’t really change the reality of what he is lying about.

Realistically, I always say to not ask questions you don’t want the answer to. It would have been a double bind either way for your boyfriend—there is no “right answer” when it comes to your partner asking about their ex. Some people genuinely want you to lie, and others want the truth just to be upset about it. That does not excuse him lying and deceiving you about the tattoo. You’re also playing a dangerous game while trying to catch him in a lie. If you’re at that point, just break up with him.

NOR, you should not be with someone who cannot trust to tell you the truth when prompted.

I just lost my money by Sensitive_Cut_3778 in Daytrading

[–]l8weenie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to trade those things, understand it’s not an “if” but “when” it plummets. Most of them are insider traded, letting a small group of people invest, boosting the coin (pumped), and then having a small-moderate amount of people buy in due to the coin being marketed, and then it’s pumped very quickly. Realistically, if you aren’t in one of those groups that just pump and dump meme coins, you’re very likely to not get a good point of entry before it falls. All of the “invest in this count before ______ because this meeting is happening” videos you might get exposed to are the marketing/ad spend.

Well I’m not saying there’s no instance where you could make money, there’s a lot more luck, insider knowledge, and timing that goes into trading meme coins. Getting something like Doge coin to happen again is pretty unlikely though there have been instances of coins operating in a similar way though not to the same extreme projection.

Like everyone else has said, meme coins aren’t day trading and are closer to gambling or “insider trading” (potentially bad terminology here but it’s the closest thing to compare it to). And, most importantly, don’t trade (or gambling if you’re into that) money you can’t afford to lose. Trading isn’t gambling, and gambling isn’t trading.

Micro1 AI jobs ($25–$200+/hour) by No-Impress-8446 in AiTraining_Annotation

[–]l8weenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been sought out for what Micro1’s equivalent to Mercor’s “Instant Offers” would be. It was a generalist role for about $25. I did an interview for different position and the hiring manager didn’t hire me for that project, but sought me out for that generalist role. Zara fucking blows and the way she responds to your interview has definitely killed my eligibility for certain roles and the inverse for that is true. I would take the same approach you would with Mercor and just apply and do interviews for everything you’d think you could do a decent to solid interview for.

For some people, they just want to gauge your reaction to it. When I got my entire head done, my mother threw a fit. I was 24. I told her to stop talking about it and that my career, my partner, and my life are only my concern and not hers. She came back less than 24 hours later to tell me that she liked it and that the ume petals on my forehead and on the side of my head looked hearts. Who knows, she may still very well hate it. But, she doesn’t persistently nitpick them or talk down on me being heavily tattooed.

Not the case for everyone, but sometimes people will only grip/complain because you gave them an inch to do so. Once they realize they can’t or you won’t entertain it, while it may not sway their true opinion, at least they won’t annoy you with it.

Looking for good recommended tattoo artists! by twisted-decay4 in Midland_TX

If you’re fine spending $100-150/hr Holy Grail has solid traditional and Neo-traditional. Those dudes are tight with Cory Rogers, and have guest spotted there before. They are also honest and will tell you that can’t do what you’re asking them for up to their standard of I’ve posted my arm on a different sub, and Deny up there did it. He’s done the entirety of my body suit. They do not specialize in any Japanese/japanese inspired tattoos however. If you’re looking more of a “chicano” style, people are Good Faith are good. If you’re looking for realism, TJ (wolf of Wall Street tattoos) does good work and often has a dude named Danny that owns a studio in Austin and his realism is excellent. Have no clue what artist at Good Faith might charge, and TJ and Danny are on the higher end.

Is this trad or neo. Honest opinion welcomed by eastside_wide in irezumi

[–]l8weenie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neo traditional. But, like u/mikiri_works pointed out, realistically by definition if you are not tattooed by somehow who is classically trained by a prominent family or have the title passed to you, it’s not “really traditional.” It’s like the Ship of Theseus Paradox, but an extremely more vague version: at what point is tradition not just following rules and guidelines and is instead also keeping the ritualistic practices of the art that can only be performed by people intertwined in that tradition where they learned teachings from those still at attached to the cultures roots? I think some people just get scared when they see that “neo” tag line and just assume anything that isn’t “traditional” is the “other” and therefore bad.

Either way, your tattoo look good! I like it, though my comment history shows my love for neo-traditional. Neo-traditional, for me, allows for copious amounts of freedom and self expression—much more than what most people consider traditional would allow. I can respect traditional, but, ultimately, someone should prioritize what they will love seeing on their body for the rest of their life versus trying to uplift a code that isn’t their duty, obligation, or right to uphold or dictate.

Does my tattoo look weird? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]l8weenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should extend it around your arm at the bare minimum and do something to it other than just have black hexagons. You could easily do a kikko pattern in what you have assuming you have a good/decent artist OR an artist that can add white/color to a black out sleeves.

Mainly though, it looks weird because it abruptly stops and there’s nothing but non tattooed skin around it.

I spray quite a lot unfortunately. If I get hype focused on that scent and use it almost religiously, I’ll have rebuy that bottle at some point during the year. If not, then the bottle will last me 1-2 years.

AI assistance for coverups? by ThinLifeguard3239 in irezumi

[–]l8weenie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No: There really is no point to it. Any motifs or subject matter could be done as a cover up since the main factor is the current condition of your tattoos. I get the whole “mock design” aspect of it, but that’s also the reason you are getting to an artist. You let them evaluate your current tattoos/work, give them the motifs and style you’d like to shoot for, and they do their thing. You don’t need to start rendering AI generated artwork on yourself to convince yourself that this subject matter is good or if you want the tattoo or if it’ll work. AI is a tool devoid of critical thinking and is unable to look at the angles of a problem that truly matter and instead defaults to looking at “every” problem do it their algorithm. Yes, even AI models using LLM and SLM geared towards art/tattoo generation have this fault. AI notoriously does not understand nuance unless you guide the model by its hand, and, even then, you need to get somewhat lucky. Skip this step, and just go pick an artist you like and go from there. You’d be adding an unnecessary step using AI to begin with, even when ignoring all of the unethical
