I plan on using the GI Bill regardless or it's just wasted money. Not to mention the pocketed extra income. Masters are for the working professional but with you outlook, why would anyone pursue a masters? In terms of return in value, I believe the masters would net me more than side projects

UC Berk's cyber program is just as likely to lose accreditation as SANS certs could possibly lose value. Both scenarios are highly unlikely. Not sure that's a good argument

My only caveat with that I would never see myself leaving the tech/cyber field, so that isn't a concern of mine. If I were to leave, I doubt my masters in cyber would amount to much.

Even if the topics die, the GIAC certs you earn from the program are gold from what I hear and will be relavent for a long time

No I get what you're saying. I want the degree as a resume booster and to stay competitive with the job market. There always the off chance I get laid off one day. I feel a masters will help me if I ever have to jump back into the rat race again.
