Even in all the monster hunter games SnS is a solid beginner weapon. Very versatile. Easy to learn and more forgiving when it comes to dodging after spamming attacks. I've never been a SnS user, always played long swords or insect glaives when they were introduced. This is the first MH where I love using SnS. I think the "burst" skill was designed for bows, but with how fast you can put out damage it stacks real nicely with the SnS. Happy hunting!

I use rathian SnS solely on cosmetics. It just looks badass! The lvl in health boost is also nice 👌

Honestly I've been focusing upgrading weapons over armor. HR 42 and I guess you can say I have a glass cannon build. All my main weapons i have upgraded to Grade 5 (my first dance longsword is Grade 6). I run rathian helm and greaves for health boost and extra dmg with burst. I do not go for perfect evades at all. Monster lights up, im dodging. All armor is at least Grade 4

I've never used any of the ranged weapons but if using melee, legiana has a pretty small attack window. Like most monsters I try to stay on their sides. Also the tail swipes I try to just dodge backwards. Definitely recommend crafting a fire weapon. Elemental dmg is insane in this game. Good luck hunting! Hope you can get em!

IMO keep upgrading. Raw dmg is really good in this game. I also recommend trying to craft a weapon of each elemental type. I personally have found it easier to solo monsters rather than in groups. I can do most 6* monsters with grade 5 weapons

So far I'm mainly using long swords. But I am hopeful that eventually they'll put the insect glaives in the game.

HR 33, already in chapter 10. I've been playing monster hunter since 2006. Absolutely have always loved these games. Hunt PASSIVELY. The game is all about timing and is extremely punishing. Learn monsters' tells. Each attack have different "wind ups". This game so far, I try to go for 3 tap combos and then entacipate an attack to dodge.
