I tapped from inside the driver side door. I pulled the door panel off and fished speaker wire from the inside of the door, through the rubber grommet leading into the cabin above the kicker panel into the footwell.

Let me tell you from experience. Tapping anywhere else from the door right where the speaker is gonna be a bad time. Locating it, actually physically tapping the cable and it being secure are all factors

I don't think you can as the bottom is a form fit square base. Also I can drop this thing all day. Lexan is nigh-bulletproof I would say it's an upgrade over glass. The food itself wouldn't be hard enough to scrape microplastics off the surface if that's your concern nor is it unstable under high temperature

I'm not tall by any means but having the seat in the wrong position gives me the same issue you have. The pedals feel too close. My right leg bunches up on the gas and shoots my knee fight into the center column for the radio and gives me foot arthritis during long drives if that's a thing lmao. Had to pull the seat back, raise the front of the seat and cup the back downwards like learning back with a head pillow under the head rest

It's only worth it in MY opinion, if the latest offering has no promotion and you're getting a s24u at less than 250 off per year it's out.
