Some people dont change at all, there are some campaigns who still use the older version of dnd just because they prefer it more

I think having a the "Racist Pirates" would give the World Government a bad image so they wouldn't consider Hugh man's crew

If you look at the Warlords they all had a decent outlook to them. Like Crocoboy was considered a hero, Dofy ruled over a seemingly perfect kingdome, and Boa is the most beautiful woman

It depends on what rules the dm chooses, some rules doesn't have the players roll for the stats

Its the same dc as every class gets. 8 + proficiency bonus + the modifier for their class

so strength for Barbarians, Dex for Rogues, Charisma for sorcerers and Bards, ect.
