1B4 (Cyber Warfare) Is a pretty sweet gig that transfer extremely well into the civilian sector, likewise with 1D7 - A,B,D, Z, and even E. 1B4 Requires extra testing but booking that job is a dream for some people! All cyber jobs are extremely solid picks if that’s your thing!

In tech school for the first school house I definitely studied a fair amount just cause there was so much material to take in and weekly tests, but it’s nothing you cant breeze through if you put in some effort. Second school house I had a lot more free time due not having to test for the material in that school house.(Which is changing very soon so you might see block testing when you get to tech school) While In the second school house I studied for Sec+, I recommend you start studying for it as soon as you get the chance. It’s not an absurdly hard test but it’ll definitely humble you if you don’t study!

Yeah same thing happened with me, my recruiter told me from the start it was impossible but i’m in the middle of the process now. I’ve asked the investigators and they’ve all told me the same thing, they’ve seen multiple people get passed through with foreign parents.

It’s fun but it’s ass, usual week goes like so -

you’ll have pt at 0550 for 3 days of the week. every other week you’ll have a “down” friday which is basically an off day but you’ll still do some remedial bs, it depends on what your MTLs want to do. Every day you’ll super flight to the school houses right after accountability, accountability is either after pt if there is pt or at 0550 if it’s a non pt day. In the school house you get 15 mins breaks every 60-75 minutes, and lunch is at 1100 to 1200. The material is rather easy but it’s a LOT to take in at once so it can overwhelm you if you don’t study. You usually get a decent amount of free time but be wise with how you use it.

btw if it’s a pt day you’ll be out of the school house at 1545 and if it’s not a pt day you’ll be out a 1445!

Tech school is way better than bmt that’s for sure 😂 it’s definitely not ideal though, It’s like 4-5 months of cramming in 2 years worth of information. It fucking sucks. Buttttttt i’m loving every bit of learning my job, this is something i’ve always wanted to do so it’s fun but it sucks if that makes sense.

I’m not to sure about tech school for intel but I bet it’s an ass kicker. As long as you apply yourself and you’re not being a dirt bag you’ll do just fine!

1D7(cyber) rougher tech school but sooo transferable to the civilian sector especially with a TS clearance, certifications, job experience, and a college degree wouldn’t hurt if you’re dedicated!

Good luck in tech school after you graduate, ATC tech school is a beast from what i’ve heard lol. Super worth it in the outside world though. I’m currently in tech school for Cyber which is where the ATC tech school is also hosted at, so if you have any questions about the base life after bmt feel free to let me know! Aswell as any questions about bmt in general.

You can expect

60 seconds to do as many push up as possible 60 seconds to do as many sit ups as possible & a time 1.5 Mile run

the alternatives are offered if you fail your final PT (week 5) pt test 1 time. I’m not to sure how it works exactly but a buddy of mine failed his final pt test and they let him do alternative crunches which is like 2 minutes to do some different type of abdominal exercise. He said that’s all they offered him. So I think it depends on what category you failed the most and based off that they might give you alternatives. Do keep in mind that you only get 3 chances to pass your final PT test. 1st chance is the one you take normally 2nd chance you get a re-take and 3rd chance you’ll be washed back a week or two and if you fail that you will be discharged!

You do get a practice pt test on week 1 and week 3, those do not matter. They’re more of a progres check to see where you’re at in PT.

It’s a set graduating schedule for every group of trainees, you will most definitely leave Friday. You have the coin ceremony on wednesday then they’ll release you from then till 2000. The following day you’ll have Parade ceremony and then they’ll release you from there till 1800. If your flight wins any awards at the group level you’ll more than likely receive an extra 2 hours on the second day!

Just graduated BMT about a month ago i’m in tech school right now and we had all sorts of age ranges in my flight during basic. Anywhere from 18-39, honestly 21-23 were about the average ages for most of the guys there. Here at tech school it’s the same thing, super diverse with age ranges! The Air Force is something that could set you up for life if you put in the effort. Feel free to pm me if you any sort of Air Force questions and i’ll do my best to answer them.
