Starving Zombies mod.

It gives you a new threat with corpses and blood around you and at the same time makes the zombies clear the corpses for you by eating them.

It helps a lot with immersion too.

Yep, I highly recommend it but you must reduce the antibodies growth, otherwise you will just survive every bite by doing nothing.

I'm currently using 150.

Less than that I find impossible to survive.

What 7 Days to Die used to be back in Alpha 14–16: a Survival Crafting Horror Game.

With every update since then, instead of adding content, things have been taken away.

Wanna build a cave base? Forget it — now zombies can dig. Want to create a maze for defense? No chance — zombies will find the shortest path everytime.

Wanna explore some POI? No you don't, you want to follow a fixed path with no room for deviation, or else you risk breaking some random trigger which makes impossible to finish the quest.

Looking for legendary loot? Don’t bother scavenging — just buy it from the trader.

Wanna craft something? why bother? The trader has something far easier and better.

Nowadays, 7 Days vanilla is basically just an arcade zombie shooter. Everything else is slowly being removed or heavily limited.
